GSI and updates

Interesting thoughts about GSI expressed by Andy. At present we already
have a team of programmers working on the various Stages of updating the
look and ease of the game. Stages 0-4 are all well into development. As
with all such projects they take time, effort, and money...

When something comes up we'll keep you appraised.

On the subject of updates we have requested that GSI give us the information
about ammendments to the program to which they answered in the negative.

I would be vaguely interested in finding out player response to buying out
GSI. Not sure how viable that would be. I think they would be amenable to
such a suggestion. So the $1,000,000 question then would be what sort of
support do we have from you?

How would it be achieved, have us as voting shareholders in MEPBM games? I imagine that a company has to be of a certain size before it can be formally floated on the stock market (someone will know). It would I guess have to involve investing players as sleeping partners in a Limited Company or something.

I think you could probably make it an LLC or a regular corporation.
Basically a team of investors who have come together as a corporation to
achieve the goal of controlling and improving the game.

The only real way to figure out the actual worth of the game to GSI is
going to find out how much money GSI makes on the game a year. Once you
realize that, then multiply that times 8 or 10 and thats our offer.

However, no business man in his right mind would sell this game right now
before the movies come out. With some real savy above ground marketing you
could probably increase the interest/play in this game 100 fold.

As much as part of me likes this idea, I fear it might be "be careful what you wish for...."

If Harlequin did buy out GSI, at that point you would have all of their responsibilities. You would have to deal with the licensing directly, as well as any other headaches they have. Plus, with the software, you'd be in the direct line of fire for anyone who wanted to make a change.

You guys do great running the game and dealing with the players. I'd hate for that to be ruined because everything overwhelmed you.

Multiple of 4-6 xEBITDA is more reasonable for a private company.

Agree with the timing issues (and opportunity!).

A business entity capable of bridging the Atlantic? Clint, I hate to
say it but the legal complexities of this proposed endeavor may be
more than you bargained for. Although an American lawyer might have
an interest in exchange for some game credits ...

An interesting concept. I'll be watching this one with interest.
