Ok, people are talking, ideas are flowing, and its beginning to come
together.........
Some further thoughts..............(my, $.02 (++) worth........)
1)How many people actually subscribe to the 'list'
20/30%?................(30% of 700 player base is only a couple of
hundred).......(nb.Draugnar@one.net, I ommitted to include figures, in case I
get my 'maths' wrong again, and I can't be bothered responding to a further
'math' email typey person;-)
Perhaps a small ditty/inclusion on peoples account pdf's, informing them of
an idea circulating, of a (possible) GSI buyout.........(would help things
along Clint)
We so far have 15%? pledged of the (estimated) required funds...........
We would need an awful lot more.........we need to reach more of the
potential audience.........(and hopefully grateful reciepients)
2)There has been some useful input so far........(Ben S, Chris C come to mind)
IF this happens 'we' are going to require a lot of specialist (usually
expensive) 'help' to assist 'us' in making 'IT' happen. I'm referring to
accountants, programmers (like me;-), lawyers, etc etc.. Perhaps it would be
useful to know, out of the existing player base, if we have 'these
specialist' individuals, (potentially) available for comment, assistance,
services etc............
3)With regard to the 'ME' game............
I (personally) would not want to see, the 'game' drastically changed (like
others) from what it is at present.........(mainly referring to 1650, I don't
play 2950, and 4th age rarely)
However, I would like to see improvements made, (there have been numerous
threads in the past on, 'how about adding this, why can't we do that',
wishlists etc) and the answer has ALWAYS been............'We' (Harley) are
NOT allowed to change the program/ improve it, etc.........(and will continue
to be, unless 'we' do 'something' about it.)
In order to encompass all of the previous (wishlist ideas, (after due
ratification etc) the game 'engine', technically would need to be written
from the foundations upwards.........which brings me nicely on to
point#..........
4)Without doubt Chris C has 'mentioned' the, 'super laying the golden egg
idea' of just two words, 'THE INTERNET.............
Those that know me, 'know' I have expressed this thought for a long
time.........
Players having the facility to type in orders on-line............. 'program'
runs / processes and spits out results.......
Having the potential to 'play' ME, in your lunch hour/all day/EVERYDAY/
FOREVER MORE, (yeah, no doubt some will say I'm sad, but thats how much I
love this game...(who needs a wife!)
really appeals to me.......and
undoubtedly is where,' the BIG pot of gold' is hidden..................
(I've even awakened the boss, (Vicky) from her slumber, and she is counting
her pennies..............)
(The 'online' order input code, is 60% complete.......(written in 'C', for
portability, so all those 'Mac' users, (even 'Welsh' (Bryn) Mac users) can
use it)
which brings me finally on to #5.
5)If 'YOU' are reading this, (i)please, please, please respond to this list,
want this 'proposed' buy out to take place, or (ii) 'GSI' to keep milking
the cow......with a NO [or a 
]
I'm hopeful there could be a lot of digests JUST full of 'smileys'...........
