Welcome to Gunboat, Mr. Anders!
It looks like you and I are the only ones who will be comparing notes at the end of it all.
I agree with your assessment: a few surprises (not all of them unpleasant surprises ) in the first couple turns. That’s one of the things I like about Gunboat – lots of surprises and new ways of doing old things.
Greetings friends and foes (you know who you all are): sure, I’ll try to keep track of how things go. Just finished my first GB game, great fun! We’ll compare notes in a couple years!
I’m in this one and will happily scribble some notes about what I have been up to. I will of course omit any order errors or miscalulations I have made…
Hey, Fletch! Good to see you again! I was playing the Noldo in G??? when you, as the Easties, suffered some sort of cognitive seizure and went Evil instead of Good (either that, or it was a devilishly clever strategy on your part…Nahhh…). Just think, no worries on that score this time! Best of luck, I think…
I am still trying to forget that incident with the Easterlings!! The moral of the story is never do your orders at 4a.m. when half in the bag. An SS would be better!! But at least I am a legend now!! :>
One hell of a way to play the game this gunboat!! Having trouble figuring out what my allies are upto, let alone what conniving / devilish plans the enemy are brewing. Good job you get two nations as I am getting battered with one of them, still thoroughly enjoying the game though. Seem to come up with a set of orders for the turn, then think but what if the enemy does this or that? So rewrite my orders, then when the results come in wish I had stayed with the original plans!!
