Title says it all really, why do you get to play 2 Nations in Gunboat games?
I wasnāt around for when gunboat was created but if I had to guess Iād say the main reason is that not all nations are created equal. Take away all coordination with the rest of your team and in some cases it makes a bad situation worse. Pairing up nations allows you to team stronger nations with weaker ones and letās the player have more of an impact on the game.
Now having said that, if enough people really wanted to start a game with only one nation each Iām sure Clint and crew would oblige.

Youād have 25 players all requesting nations like SG and the Cloud Lordā¦ Not enough would accept the āweakerā nations as soloās in a Gunboat.
Can you consider playing the Rhuns all alone knowing they have Servants on their hind part right from the start?
My advice is when you understand the answer to the question you may be ready to play GB but until then avoid it.

So thatās not patronising at all then !
I never asked for permission to play Gunboat due to my implied lack of understanding, it was just a question thatās all.
2 nations basically to keep a decent balance and interest. Most (if not all) of the duos are in different parts of the map and often have different strengths to the other part of the duo (not always true as itās impossible to do so but close).
It means that you can have one nation help another if you want and thatās can be very important. Also if you win (or lose) in one area you still have interest in another area of the map.
Note you can join as a duo of players and interact together (only together mind) and we get quite a few players join like that.

You dont need my permission to play it, play it as much as you like.
But play it before you understand the answer to the question and you waste the time of the rest of the players.
Of course some players may like having games ruined from the off, but view is listen and learn and when you understand the answer go and play it.
However as the question has been answeed I will leave you to your choice as to whether to play it or not.
