We're getting the information collated for the GWCs and game ends. This is
the information I am presently collating - any other bits you would like
added? I'll put the results in Bree then.

of thing.
Which in cases where the FP won, will almost always tell you just, who got allocated the Noldo position on turn zero. I'd rather you so anything but just rely on the rubbish VP system. Why not record all players who were on the winning allegiance at game end? Perhaps by account number if that made it more concise.

NPC's are the weakest point of my game. Can any of
the Wise answer a few questions for me?
Ever seen a confirmed victory in personal combat over
a dragon or the Balrog of Moria. I want the biggies,
not the Demon of Aglarond or any such.
Will a Sickness/Curses work on a dragon or balrog?
The spell requirements say nothing about NPCs.
Is it worth casting Scry Character on any of these
NPCs? I've heard that it lists their attributes as
100's in every category, but they must have huge
bonuses to their challenge, right?
curious and getting curiouser...

Seen 'em in a couple of games, mainly 2950 with
galadriel loaded with arties. Actually was an
effective means to dispose of dragons ... we'd post
dragon camps as the FP and then go kill them. Keeps
them from being recruited by DS!
I have to try to dig up pold turns to see challenge
rank she had.

dragons have different strengths. young, old, etc.
ranks over 250-275, preferably with arties that
provide
anti-dragon bonuses have done the trick.
i only have guesses regarding the rest...

I've seen dragon kills -- usually the FP stack mage artifacts
on Elrond or Galadriel and go hunting the things. It's rather
risky -- I once lost Galadriel when Khuzadrepa killed her after
an eleven-round battle -- but not having the dragons around
for the DS to recruit is worth a LOT in the army game. In 1650
you could try stacking command artifacts on (say) a Woodman
regent with a challenge bonus, but usually it's mage artifacts
(since, after all, you can put the mage in a company and still
have them cast lore spells while hammering the dragons.)

Never tried it; I suspect not, however.

My guess is that dragons have a challenge rating of around
250. Maybe higher, maybe lower -- since the challenge report
gives you odds, and not net bonus, it's hard to tell the
difference between 250 vs. 200 and 250 vs. 275. I suppose
someone who was willing to expend a lot of low-level
characters might find something out...

I don't know about curses, but you can defeat a dragon in a challenge (i
do this in game 10 of Anel Um). Khatog has 264 of duel.... I can pasa the
final turn, but it's in portuguese... You can see the Culgor... 8-)))
Encounter for XXXXXXX at 2004
Drawing his weapons and calling upon his courage, he
leapt to the attack with a battle scream rolling from
his lips. Angurth looked sneeringly down at the
warrior before him. It would be fun to slaughter this
puny
warrior, he thought. The Dragon watched as the warrior
launched an all out attack against what he believed
to be the Dragon's weakest points. Suddenly, a fiery
breath hit the warrior with stunning force. Giant
talons spun him around and the whipping tail struck
him again and again. Angurth laughed as his opponent
fell to the ground gasping for breath and writhing in
pain. Gathering his wits, he circled the great beast
and struck a blow that caused the Dragon to roar in
pain. Most of the blows seemed not to bother Angurth,
but several hurt the great worm and his movements grew
slower. It became a question of who would fall first.
Suddenly, he lunged forward and struck Angurth through
the chest and the great heart burst asunder. He
watched in awe as the great body went through its
death throes. After the battle, a small chest was
found.
Inside was a scroll which burst into flames. As it
burned, he found a new spell in his memory! Gems and
jewels were also found. They valued about 15000 gold
pieces and were sent to the capital!
XXXXXXXXXX had a 275 challenge rank and the spell he
received was Conjure Hordes.

I've never done it but is there a difference between whether you react
to a dragon encounter (which this looks to be) as opposed to
challenging? Did XXXXXXX get injured in the battle? (sure sounds like
he did!).
interesting stuff for sure.

A friend of mine once killed the harper with Elrond who had a challange rank
abou 300 because he was searching for the ONE RING.
The text was quite nice.
The first sentence was something like: Elrond smiled, because he knew this
fight would not last long........
He killed the harper without beeing wounded and grabed 68K !!! of gold
