Also in a similar vein twice as many players went low funds in April to
those in March. And players wonder why we hold back the occasional turn?
Clint
Okay a new record - 9 players held back due to consistent low funds.
We'd like to thank you all for making this a special day, space means that
we cannot thank you all personally, but you are in our hearts.

Not to be rude Clint - and not that it's an excuse exactly - but a lot
of us USAns just paid our annual taxes. It's easy to forget Harly when
one is short of cash and the rent is due.

well i don't remember getting an account balance for
FA 49 (I only remember seeing my turn).
UM - we sent them all out. When a game starts we put the latest version of
the house rules (it's marked inside as to what date updated), the Front
Sheet (contact for allies - if you're Neutral then you might not have taken
the time to read it) and the Nation sheet (in FA games there would not be
one). NKA or Last Alliance (LA) have an extra sheet (either in the body of
the email, or as an attachment). You would need to ask directly if you want
a copy of the FS or a balance.
I think I'm still Ok, but since I only keep my
turnsheets, I'm wouldn't bet on it.
If you paid the start-up fee you will get the 2 free turns.
And what does 'low funds' mean. Are we talking
negative, will go negative, or something like 'less
than 5 pounds ?'
Check out the houserules - I think it is covered there. Going negative, or
not havign enough to pay for a turn (so having 3.89 or under in your
account).
I've never quite got this - do you really not pay any tax all year and then
suddenly get hit for it all in one go? Seems insane to me - just for once,
I'm thankful for PAYE...
Regards,
Tim.

Of course, if they were intelligent they would have spotted the trend for
the government to take huge sums of money (actually a lot less than we pay
here in Europe, by the way, despite their whinging) each year at around the
same time and would have arranged to put something aside each month in a
special account...
In reality, though, from what I understand, US tax is taken in great measure
each month out of the payroll, just like in the UK. At least for employees.
Still, mustn't get in the way of a good whinge, must we.

Most folks have a certain amount withheld from each paycheck, so the
difference at the end of the year is not great. However it is quite
common to have a sum due which is large because of errors in
calaculation, having multiple jobs, running a business or variable
income; or the amount due might not be very large in absolute terms but
if your available funds are normally limited even a tax bill of a couple
hundred might throw off cash flow enough that 'nonessentials' like PBM
might go by the boards for a few weeks. Again, not an excuse, just an
observation.
And I fear I've gone a ways off topic; sorry about that.
So, why do Nazgul have to collect taxes anyway? I thought they just
bullied everyone into submission? Sad to think a lowly orc makes as
much as a Dunadan militiaman...

I've got another question regarding nazgul and taxes.
Why does murazor fail when the tried to tax the orcs
at 60% ?
As if a lowly orc will say 'bugger off murazor, you
don't scare us'.
but its even funny when murazor tried to lower the
tax, and fails. So the orcs are saying 'bugger off
murazor, we like paying higher taxes'.
thanks

p.s no saying who wins survivor II - i've just come
from playing poker in yahoo, and I had to drop before
others mentioned it.
