HOW intimidating are dragons ?

Dragons are good for many things (when on your side of the army) but has anybody any idea on how they contribute to the succes of a 498 Threat ?

My logic says that even the smallest of the drakes must at least make up the 1000 troops you need to have maximum succes to threaten a town, but has anybody tried to figure out, or just have a feeling on, how they work (IF they work at all)

Do they help at all with Threats?

Most theories on Threats assume the key factors are the Comm rank and the pc loyalty, followed by fortifications and army size. The actual strength of the army doesn’t matter, nor do combat arties (though Comm arties do).

Since Dragons function as a nuclear bonus to the first round of combat, are they treated as combat arties and therfore irrelevant to Threat attempts?

Take all this with a big grain of salt – in game 221, I’ve just failed my 4th (#%%@!!!) Threat in a row.

My guess is that the only thing that Dragons help with in a threat, is their lowering of the populations loyalty (and it comes before a threat, and only applies if you are DS trying to threaten, since the FP awail dragons, dont seem to lower loyalty on the DS pop centres).

Hehe tykke. I thought it was “Your dad’s secret lover”

However, Nanook. It does make sense what you say, from a game mechanics point of view, that dragons are basicly no more than build-in one megatone handgrenades, sp they do nothing in a threat. That I find this very unrealistic (and a bit boring) is an other matter…

Per, the FP recruitable dragons function the same way regarding affecting loyalty as the other dragons to my knowledge. Throkmaw recruited into my SG army lowed the loyalty on my pop where the army was stationed, so you want to move those dragon armies away from you pops asap. Throkmaw and Scorba also improves loyalty on DS pops (I don’t know if that changes if they are with a FP army)…

That’s what I mean Jeppe, this “bonus” to threats only applies to the DS, since a dragon in a FP army, wont lower loyalty on a DS popcentre, like the other way around

P.S. I’d do him too, If he wasn’t so prude :expressionless:

I would hazard a guess that dragons will affect the loyalty of the pop centre as any other character would - at 520 or 525, thus after the 498 order. Once you threaten a pop with a dragon in your army, either you get the message that the dragon affected the loyalty to prove this, or you don’t - at which point Per has it right.
