How much food is needed?

To everyone who has replied..... Are we playing the same game ???

I thought that

1) Baggage train must contain a minimum of 1 food at start of turn.

2) All troops in the army must be fed that turn to move the full distance

3) If you end up with no food at end of turn (but all troops were fed) you
can still move full distance.

Sorry, but you are incorrect with your 3 statements. The order #'s are
like a sequence of play with lower numbers going first. With the
various mid 300 orders like transfer food to pop, and army and even
purchase from caravans, that the army will have a chance to eat. They
actually eat around line 399 (Not an order just part of the sequence)
in the code. This is a consumption of food. The next step is during
the movement phase. This is where the confusion exists. If a army has
a least one food and has eaten, I may move full. The restrictions is
the army not the troops. Also if an army has been newly hired, it is
assumed to have eaten during 399 ever though it was not not created
until 770,and has one food it may also move full. The cheat in the
program is when you have two armies. One with full food ( it ate
during 399 or is a new hire) and has one food at the start of movement
while the other 2nd army has no food and has not eaten. If the second
army 780 transfers command to the fed first army, then the army is
assumed fully fed because the first army is at fully fed status and
has no movement restriction.
