in praise of FA bedlam

I do agree that a more structured 4th Age setup

might work well. Maybe

use the regional setup map and assign regions to each

allegiance, with

maybe 2 or 3 contested regions which can have one of

each allegiance.

*** What would one suggest?

This was in response to a thought on grudge match,
wasn't it?

In standard games, can we keep the random assignment?

One of the best times I've had playing ME-PBM was in
the earliest days, when no one had a complete map of
even starting positions, and teammates scrambled to
trade xerox copies and try to get an idea of what was
out there.

Standard FA is now the closest leap into the unknown
and it's exciting, even when you start surrounded by
the enemy.

My current FA grudge match -- divided into regions,
with frontline and backfield nations -- has gone
exactly as predicted by the inital setup, but my
standard game has had wild surprises nearly every
turn. Guess which one has me race for the results?
