Page 5 of the rulebook states: the game can end by two ways: A or B.
We know just how difficult strategy B is, but is it, actually, achievable?

Yes it is achievable. It has been done on several occasions.
Participated in six One Ring games. The Ring won four times and lost twice. The first step is the hardest—convincing otheres to try it.
It leads to absolutely crazy fun. I remember as the dwarves doing a few scouts during the sequence and there were 35+ chars there.
Remember the weaker chars are less likely to ‘drop’ the ring and, you gotta do the order twice. It leaves the dude way open to getting his ass nailed.
I agree the biggest battle is convincing the ‘team’ to help out.
You use alot of orders assembling a force to do it and alot of time ‘tracking’ smaegol, and he’s a slippery little bugger. That’s why it’s rare as hens teeth, much easier to kill your way to victory.

How does the Ring lose Ed? The Ring always Wins, it’s the One Ring…!
I think the One Ring actually loses big time in any One Ring victory doesn’t it?
Haaaa haaaa haaaaa
That is soooooooo funny.
We tried it a few times. And yes the CL had a great time. All Agents and cursers floating around hexes. Its a bloodbath and so infuriating as every move the damn thing got dropped so almost every mage we had was there or abouts. In terms of resources it was ludicrous. If both teams dont go for the ring then one team is free to completely wipe out the other as they task resources to the ring. Therein lies the problem. Does the risk of a quick, but not easy, victory outweigh possibly being mauled into exctinction???
