JO

Actually I have been transitioning to JO for my orders and I find it to be a little better than Automagic, However automagic has some things that I like. I sometimes don’t remember an order number, or a spell number. Automagic has a spell info tab and order info tab, which are nice for quick reference, instead of opening the Manual for them. If those were added, or if they exist already (where are they) it would make the transition for me complete.

Hi

I’m now using JO and it has some very useful features but there are parts of Automagic that I still prefer. The main one is the “orders” page, which lists on one screen all my nation’s characters, their skills and, once I’ve done them, their orders.

Is there somewhere in JO that is the same as or similar to the “orders” page in Automagic? I know characters can be listed in the bottom left of JO but it’s not the same.

Game - Generate Order Report will display the orders in text format in a way we are familiar with.

The bottom section has the Orders tab - if you Double Click a tab, it goes full screen. Double Click the tab again, and it goes back to it’s place. Filter the Orders for your nation and you can view the whole list, easly ID’ing those with n/a that yet require orders for those “Oh right, I was trying to camp way over there…” moments.

Spell Info is a tab, usually in the same area as the map, same as Order Info, etc.

If you’re creating orders in JO, you can enter 9…and the go with your Down Arrow to scroll through them to figure out which Scouting order you need, etc.

When I get my results and intend on doing orders, I like to go to Tools - Highlight Characters and then enter my nation # to make sure I can review everyone’s results, current sitrep and issue orders.

In the Order Tab, select any Order and then Right Click to get “Draw Orders on Map”. Or right click to Clear them.

Then, when all your teammates have sent you their orders in Text and you’ve Copied them then pasted them into Game - Import Orders from Text - you can Filter the orders by Emissary > 30 then Draw those - and see all the conflicts.

Or filter on Transfers, Double-Click the Orders Tab to go full screen and make sure you see the steel transfers, gold transfers, etc.

Play around, get used to it - more there than most can handle - the difference between riding a bike and flying a helicopter…

Once you get used to the Highlight Characters and find Agent > 40, Nation = 14, Within 12 Hexes of XXXX, drawing Emissaries and the Team Economy page, well, 90% of those 1-off “Hey, can anyone send an agent/gold, etc” emails can disappear because - you have the answers. In the right hands JO should accelerate team planning to a whole new level…

Cheers,

Brad

Thanks Brad.

There is obviously stuff I haven’t found yet.

Re the point about spell numbers etc., I’ve copied the Automagic pages into an Open Office file. This is working for me.
