JOverseer and new XMLs and PDFs

In the map options tab (bottom right corner of my setup) there is an option to change the size of the map display (zoom level).

It took me awhile to get the hang of JOverseer’s functionality too. One can already make the map (or any quadrant panel) become full screen. Double click on that screen’s tab and that qaudrant will become full screen. Double click on it again to return it to standard qaudrant views.

For you’re information, in case you’re not aware of it, I’ve noticed another problem. Just got the turn for my game. For one army the pdf correctly reports it has 3 sub-commanders. However when loaded into JO the xml only picks up one of those 3 as a sub-commander.

I can also confirm the problem kim mentioned, at least for 925 orders as it doesn’t carry them over to JO.

Hi all,

As others noted there are several problems with the new XML files. I’ve been working to fix these and soon I’ll post a new version of JOverseer. But for now you do need to double check what you see in the XMLs against the PDFs.

Note that the with the new XMLs, the PDFs are not needed, hence they are never read.

Marios, if I may inquire, what is the purposes of this XML change? Will the PDF be changed/degraded in any way?

Ed, the new pdf is “improved”. Mostly the file size has increased with color. The intent of the new xml is to include all the possible information that Marios was parsing out of the pdfs - scouting reports, etc. There are some issues, and of course, it’s tough to include removed fortifications, docks, bridges, etc, that one would have been able to “see” on the map.
