I suceeded on an other computer. Only problem is that this other computer is not MY computer. If a memorystic will help me I am not sure. But having done this sucessfully is a big help. Atleast I know what to try to do. Maybe I can sort this out on my own computer after all?
Anyone out there having experience with the combination JOverseer and W7 ?

Steve,
Thank you for taking time to answering me.
I am using Window 7 . Extremly frustrating! It wont work.
Maybe I will try to install it on someone elses computer and then see if I can view the game via a memorystick. Thats the best I can do I think. Pity.

In the unzipped files there should be one called joverseer.bat. If you double click on that it should open a command line window in which it runs to start up JO. Do NOT close this window as the package needs it to run. If will close automatically when you exit JO. After a short delay you should get another window open up for JO. [I'm using Windows XL but expect it should be fairly similar for other operating systems].
If you click on Game-New Game the top left option on the pull down menu you should then be able to set up the parameters for you're game. I.e. what type, game number and one of the nations you're actually playing. [Unfortunately it will only allow one nation to be selected in this way, unless there's a tweak I haven't found]. When you open up JO in future it will default the map to the home region of that nation. One point to notice is to make sure you click on the new XML format option if you're starting a new game.
Once you're done this then the Game - Input Dir option to select the game files [pdfs in new format and pdfs and xmls in old] and load you're start up date. If using it on an existing game you can use the option below this for loading a directory tree to load all turns, although this assumes you have them stored in separate turn folders under a games folder and may take some time.
Make sure you safe the game before exiting. It will prompt you to do so if you haven't. On returning to JO use the game-load option to select this game and it will load up the relevant details. On receiving a new turn depack the zipped mail files and then use game- Input Dir option on the folder their in and it will load the new turn details.
There are a lot of options accessible to do various things. Would note the Window - Restore original layout option in case anything gets messed up as it will do exactly that. However hope the above gives you the basic details.

I have been at the ME games site regarding Joverseer and followed the instructions. Which means I have downgraded and unziped some files. - But NOT a file called "setup". Shouldnt that one be downloaded too? - I have read (well actually looked briefly through) the guide. As far as I could see there is nothing about how to start there.
What do I do now? How to start?
One of the zip-files only contained 2 files. I moved them both to my Joverseer-folder. The other is there as a folder with many unzipped files. Hope that is ok.
If I succeed to install and use Joverseer would it be any point also to download Palentir?
