KIDNAPPING DRAGONS

Been following this thread with interest, wandering when someone would take
it up.......
Brads comment is correct, but not strictly true,
Like everything in ME, there is a way to achieve the desired result, it just
requires lateral thinking, and a devious, cunning, warped mind, and alot of
spare time.
So think differently, the answer is staring you in your face,

Subject: Re: Interrogate dragons???

Greetings, everybody!

I was thinking about something: Can I kidnap a dragon in 1650?

If I can kidnap a dragon, I can interrogate this hostage, right?

What does

the dragon answer if I interrogate it (if it's a hostage o' mine)?

Thanks in advance,

No you can't kidnap a dragon.

Andy;
Good point, but I was answering Marcelo's question as it was posed.
Sure there are ways to virtually hold the right dragon a hostage, to
ensure that same dragon is at your beck and call. With a good enough
emissary or one with say the Pectoral you might even get some
information about the dragon ie where he is going etc. Dragons
however can not be interrogated or held by characters even with
lateral thinking. Once when Stuart was at DGE I called him and asked
if a dragon could be Cursed to death. His reply was "Well you can try
it but, it will be very unhappy with you." This indicated to me that
they have an innate resistance to magic. I think the best that you
can hope for is to know the dragon's location and what he did in the
past turn.

Hi, Brad.

That makes sense. Dragons are magical creatures and should have a high
magic resistance. On the other hand, a creature that doesn't serve a nation
doesn't have victory conditions or any other information of this kind
(related to a specific nation). So, it should be difficult to implement
something like this... interrogating a dragon. What kind of info it would
say to you? Maybe what you said: what he did last turn. This may be the
best answer for "Why not allow a player interrogate a dragon".

Kind regards,

Wouldn't it be possible that a WISE and well traveled dragon have
nation information of several nations in the game?

If it is possible to hold and interogate then this information seems
possible to me.

However the question remains, how inclined is a dragon to talk, and
not just about BBQ receipies?

I can see it now, a hostage Dragon on a chain and wearing a muzzle,
this might make it hard to get good info.

No problem, dragons being magical creatures can send messages mind to mind by telepathy. But if you did manage to get a chain and muzzle on one, would you REALLY want to know what it was thinking?
