RD: Ask them! What possible objection could they have to an improvement to
theitr game which doesn't cost them any money?

I agree too! that is a great idea. I have never agreed with some of the
character portraits that they chose to use for important players. If
people could see all of them and choose which ones they wanted to use,
that would be extremely cool.
Clint, (and Sam) I was serious about the scanning thing. I would
like to send you better scans of the drawings to use in the game, and
for your (and other player) web pages. I won't be back at home till
mid-May (I'm taking care of my sister) but I can start on it then. Some
of them need to be cleaned up so it may take me awhile.
Anyway, if you decide to do something like this, it's fine with
me. Since I own the rights to my drawings, I don't see how GSI could
object..... also, I don't know what Elizabeth Danforth's agreement is
like, whether she owns the rights to her original drawings or not.
hopefully you can use hers too, cause her drawings are great!
and maybe I could re-draw some of the less interesting drawings.
That would be fun for me and then it wouldn't be so embarrassing to see
some of them on various web-sites.... : ) (don't worry, this would be
something I am doing for myself, I don't expect any compensation for
this)
  life is good!

RD: Amelia, LOVE the portraits you did for the ME game. Keep up the
creativity and the sense of humour!

Clint, I know you've got a lot on your plate, but this really does seem like
an idea worth pursuing.

Richard.

watching them break, creating Account programs, auto-input, 3 variant games

Clint, I know you've got a lot on your plate, but this really does seem

like

···

Aiyee... seems like I stirred up a hornet's nest of Greenpeace lovers with
nothing to do! My apologies Sir Clint. Who would ever know that picking fun
at lowly Ji Indur's cheesy elephant helm would bring such sorrow to the land
(and make the natives restless enough to start another way-off-topic
thread).

Actually speaking, the scans and such shouldn't take long but incorporating
them into the the program... holy hemerroids... is always the biggie. In
some cases the scans might just be a simple thing of overwriting. As far as
for greater variety, it might an option simply to increase the number of new
character pictures (I offer a draw a nice stickman myself!). I doubt
choosing one's is a viable option.

Well, in my plebian-inciting opinion, you're biggest enemy is GSI who seem
to have little interest in updating their program. Heck MEPBM is 10 years
old or nearly so..? And what have they changed. Eh... if you secretly tinker
with some internal code we won't tell. But, sadly, something obvious like a
copywrited photo (like those off of ME:CCG now that it's defunct) could be a
toughy to push.

Time for a general update. The mantra should be "Even Legends updated to a
2.0 version!"

Anways, with GSI... I suggest a coke, a smile, and perhaps a pretty girl.

If the program is well written, it's actually very easy to change which
portraits appear. If MEPBM originated on the Mac, which I think it did,
there's a good chance that all the portraits are external files and the
program simply says "I'll use that one, please" whenever it needs a
portrait.

Gavin

That's the case... Note no time to work on this properly yet. 5th time.

Some more ideas for the 2nd ediiton

I had an idea for a very minor change regarding an order. I've been
using the Stand and Defend alot lately. It occurred to me that when issuing
this order there's no way to tell if it was succesful or if no enemy armies
attempted to pass through the hex sides that i was defending. For example,
if i am in the hex with an enemy army and i issue the Stand order. Next
turn both my army and the same enemy army are still there. Was my army able
to stop the movement of the enemy army? or did that enemy army not try to
pass through?
Seems to me that the commander would very easily know if the enemy
army tried to move out of the hex. Could a line be added under the
character report saying something to the effect of, "Foreign army(s)
attempted to pass our blockade and were stopped."
Thanks
Paul Romaine
