LA starting armies

How about getting shot of some of the huge Infantry armies and changin them for smaller, swifter, more powerful cavalry armies. Additional smaller Infantry only garrison armies could also be included for garrison purposes and recruitment. This would enable a quicker first strike for all as well as recruiting armies for the second wave thus giving us a large campaign on an extremely wide front.

The Free might be hard pushed to stop splinter DS armies splitting to separate compass points and wreaking havoc.

RD: Hi Alan.

I’m trying to follow Tolkien as closely as the game permits, and the vast majority of the troops he mentions, in any Age, are infantry. WiK, DoL, LoR, all have cav armies, as do Harad and Eas marching to Mordor’s assistance. Also, logically, Mordor nations would have difficulty recruiting cavalry due to the lack of mounts of any kind in mountain terrain. You want to recruit cav, you’re going to have to break out into the plains!

Regards,

Richard.

Why would this be better? It would be bigger but not necessarily make for a better game. Some nations are very much orientated towards cavalry nations and this is generally represented in the game with their cavalries.
