I've just finished proof-reading the LA module. First, only 4 SNAs are
allowed whilst I had entered 5 for some nations. Clint suggested:
1) Dwarves lose 6 force march
2) FiK loses 13 train at 20
3) Dark Lord loses 27 Fearful hearts
4) Black Numenoreans lose 17 ships at half cost - give them extra ships.
I'm happy with 2 and 3.
For 1) I would prefer to see Dwa lose 19 forts at 1/2ti cost. Dwa are much
more likely to need forced marches than extra fortifications in this
scenario.
For 2) I would prefer BNu to lose challenge bonus, which is pretty feeble as
SNAs go. BNu were famous mariners, so they should keep the ability to build
ships at half cost. I don't like the idea of extra ships at start as this
doesn't fit the 'historical' LA starting line-up.
House rules:
Clint mentions that Sauron might die in an encounter - are you serious?
OK, you know more about the 4A encounters than I do, but if anybody can win
one, Sauron should be able to. Can you not simply house-rule that Sauron
cannot be killed by encounters even if he loses? Sauron being killed by an
encounter would be a dreadful anti-climax for both sides and should be
avoided at all costs. How many player would re-sign up after such a silly
outcome?
Clint has also said that if the FP win a strategic pop centre they LOSE. OK
the FP start with al of the strategic pops except 3124 and 3423. One of the
FP aims is to destroy 3423, but 3124? The FP may want to capture this as a
legitimate military target. It's crazy to say the FP can't capture this pop
which is the WiK capital! Surely, Clint, you can just rule that the 4A
strategic victory is not valid in this scenario?

there are some serious errors/omissions in the army/navy section. Not all
the mistakes are Harlequin's; some are mine):

** preference is for the Force march as it is not as useful an ability - I
can imagine Dwarves grumbling...

** could do yes. We could "resurrect him" but this would also mean he was
immune to encoutners which does not seem appropriate either.

Um I think you might be confused here - you need to have the SP victory
under one player. Check out page 5 of the FA rules on this. Easy enough
to
avoid and we cannot change the program to avoid this. It allows the DS to
still go for this - and as they are much the less chosen nations I think
an
advantage to them would be appropriate.
RD: I'll have to re-read that bit.
I am also probably going for the NM
as 40 Em, and probably an improvement to the Dragon lord as well if
something appropriate can come up.
RD: If you must, then how about EITHER:
1) Making this the +10 starting bonus OR
2) Deduct 10 from another character's rank so that the overall nation stats
remain the same and you don't open the floodgates to players saying why
can't QAv have this, LoR that and Uncle Tom Cobley something else. Of
course, if you're just going to give DrL +10 (mage?) then that balances +E10
for Nor.

RD: Yeah, I sympathise, but it would be quite remarkable if we didn't find a
few cock-ups at this stage. Better find 'em now than when the game has
started!

If the navy can support the army this is automatic.
