Last Alliance

Okay we have 7 Players available for this game. Anymore - if I get to 10 I
will put it as a game available for set-ups and deal with that. Note set-up
costs are +15 as we have to do a lot of work to set-up the game. So 20
gets you 2 free turns, 15 gets you no free turns.

I think that the FP had a more organised team, almost a Grudge team in many
respects (ie a well organised group of players who are used to playing with
each other, rather than the individuals who set-up for the DS team. The win
was definitely fair though for the FPs.

What armies for the DS particularly need the food at game start - if you can
list those for me I can sort out food for them and any others that might
need it (FP). (Note all the armies have food having checked this to get a
fed army then 315ing 1 food in most cases will enable you to move fed). At
least one turns food seems appropriate at least here (most players
use it as a commodity though). (Check the LA Module and you will see that
they have a lot more though). Maybe we can tweak a PC or two for the DS
to test that out? (Upgrade a village to a town that sort of thing - say
3or4 nations?)

Thanks

Clint

I don't think starting armies need more food, the problem is the
reinforcement armies you make later.

I'd instead give the DS more starting gold if possible.

As for pops, looking at the map, and from our experiences, the ones
I wouldn't mind seeing increased are:

4324 (LongRider) camp -> Town?
3230 (LongRider) camp -> Town? (since 3329 is useless for recruiting)
4025 (Blind Sorcerer) village -> Town?
3222 (Cloud Lord) camp -> village/town? More protection on Morannon.

Others which should maybe be looked at are:

4325 4425 (Giving the DS a better ability to protect the backdoor,
and quicker get into the Rhun area).

RD: Agree. What about my suggestion that DS lose 3 camps in mts or desert,
and are compensated by villages in ALL Nurn shore hexes? This will generate
more food plus a lttle more gold.

RD: DS have already been given extra starting gold. I really do NOT want to
see wholesale "improves" of DS camps to towns. I think we have established
that in the first game of LA the DS did not play as well as the FP as a team
(no offence!). So I suggest the modest tweak above of swapping 3/4 DS
mt/desert camps for food-producing shore/plains villages. This gives the DS
some extra food (there seems pretty general agreement that this is needed)
and a tiny amount of extra revenue.

I am quite happy to make these changes if Harle agree - LMK.

Improving 4 DS camps/vils to towns is over-compensation, and does nothing
to rectify the DS food shortage.

Richard.
