late turns

I just don't understand.....

Why have a due date when it isn't...?? Especially
with the 1 week games. The due date is the due date,
and on the due date, the turns are put into the
program, and then sent out when done. Simple and
fair.

Especially for us NAmericans.....we have to have the
turns submitted, essentially, the night BEFORE the
"due date" and then get our results some time, 2 days
later...or 3 if they go back on their written word and
wait an extra day for the 1 week games.....4 day game?

Ah well, bugs and problems etc. Not expecting anyone
to have thought of everything before hand. Just
hoping to see the problems that arise dealt with
effectively. Especially in this game, I already lost
a turn because of the whole transition and Sunday due
date (I still want an explanation for that...)
conflicting with my out-of country vacation. Starting
to get bitter. Oh yeah, I also overran an army in this
game..........but didn't....what next?

Regards,

Brad Brunet who was hoping to get his turn back with
only a few more days left before his orders were due...

Actually, the "deadline" is 10am GMT on the day _after_ the due date -
that's when they do their "final check" of email (and I suppose faxes,
possibly even voicemail tho' I doubt it ...) for submissions, then input
the data and run the turns. This equates into roughly 5am et the day
_after_ the "Return Before" date that's printed on the turn, in the
back, at the front of the order-submission part.

Hope that's clear.

As a fellow NAmerican (whose been with Harlequin for a year), I really
don't see what the big deal is. Harlequin is doing everything they can
to accommodate people. As Ben said, the turn gets run the day after the
date printed on the turnsheet. Think of it as "leeway." I have always
gotten my turns around noon-1pm on the day the turn is run (that is, the
day after the date printed on the sheet). That gives me a week to get my
turn done. Nice and reasonable.

It;s the way Allsorts did it -but due to player pressure it was too hard to
change things without some players getting confused. I would like to do
this but ...

See earlier email - you can leave it to the last minute as lots of players
do on the day of process but I guarantee that players willforget, get things
wrong etc.

We asked GSI about this - I gave an explanation about what I thought had
happened but yet to hear back from them. Why not send in turns early?
