Let's Get 145 Started!

Hey all. I’ll be running one of the Free People nations this game.

To the other Freeps out there, contact me privately. We’ll work out low importance stuff like not tripping over capital locations, then when we get Turn 1 I’ll sign your emails up for an email list and file share site. (And no, we won’t be sharing files on Yahoo Groups this game. They have failed us for the last time.)

To the neutrals, look forward to talking to you! There are some obvious pair-ups for allegiance choices, and the map will make for some interesting discussion. So… let’s!

And all you DS players out there… prepare to taste my imaginary and light hearted wrath! Seriously, let’s have a fun game.

Greetings as well, Ill be running a DS nation in this game . We already have a Game page set up so please contact me for more info at stormy88@charter.net . And to all the neutrals out there, please feel free to contact me as well.
Freeps be prepared to see why you once feared the dark (insert evil laugh )

Bump to top.

Reminder that setups are due by January 8. Let’s get them in so the mayhem can begin!

For those wishing an audience with the Kingdom of Arnor you can send your messages to Suraklin98 @ yahoo. com

B seyinya real suun…LAW JUST DUNNA GO ROUND HERE…SAVVY?

OK i need help here… what does this mean?

Hi all. I am the neutral in S. Mordor. Looking forward to a good game. I welcome contact from FP, DS, and fellow neutrals, of course.

Gene (lechipman AT DOMAIN comcast DOT net)

It is my understanding that you are not supposed to coordinate setups with anyone except those you joined with as a team. Not trying to be a jerk, just want to make sure we all play the game by the same rules.

They are lines from the movie Tombstone. And Jason- I’m sure the heck not retired but even if I were, I’ll be your huckleberry

Hi David, we did win 141 in the end and goblin gate pass was cleared and retaken.
Here I am down south as a DS but nonetheless I’d like to have a steady communication flow with you.

Sorry, this is only game 5 for me coming back after a many-year absence. I don’t see that stipulation in the rulebook, is that a gentleman’s-agreement or house rule I should be aware of?

DS nation signing in. Hoping for a game with much pain inflicted on all who oppose me.

I may be reached at 2wahoo61@gmail.com

Would like to hear from neutrals, kingdoms, and any DS that I have not met yet. Heck, I’ll even snarl at a freep if you want!

John of the DS

Gene you misspelled your address (or better you mixed up your two current email address)

Hi there, Hopefully with chatting to Rob you are getting up to speed on this. Its house rules really. I will update them onto the website! I think in the past when you played before everyone could pick capitals all over the map and co-ordination of cpaitals was extremely tricky with people communicating all over the place. Now you first pick a map region(nation) with the GM help and then you give 3 choices of capital within that region and the GM (rob) jostles the choices so they all work (ie not within 10 hexs of each other)

I believe the FA setup files states capitals must be no closer than 6 hexes, not 10. Otherwise, it would be impossible for the 3 Mordor nations to exist.

Indeed. But 6 or 10, what is the difference.

Rob says its 4!

Dean

Right, and I like taking the “any location” option because it helps the GM seat the game, makes a more challenging game, and is extra cash for the turn 1 treasury.

But after players are assigned to their regions, is it not permissible to communicate with a neighboring nation of the same allegiance to work out primary capital locations so they do not conflict with one another or so that they provide mutual defense? (That didn’t happen this game, but I’m asking for sake of reference.)

Or is this something that should only be done by team or grudge game setups?

Actually, the difference of 10 and 6 is 4. So, when you put us together we are right.

Ah, so I did. Corrected in original post.

My understanding has been that coordination before setups are submitted is something only teams (people joining together) can do. But now, I cannot find a reference to it on the forums, rulebook, or setup materials. I’m pretty sure I am not mis-remembering, but maybe its no longer used as a house rule?

Rob, can you weigh in on this?
