Go the LCT path. Get a good mage, give it an artii.
For freep, u got some time. Dragons show up t4-5 so u got time to learn the spell.
With a decent mage with an artii bolted on you'll be fine. In reality it's not a real aely game ploy.
Easier, put camps in the mts and watch for messages. Mages doing LAT, when u got the good stuff u can afford to waste a mage or two to track dragons
