Oh dear, we have a hardened cynic in our midst!
Cynic ? I said that when if comes out I will watch it.
Then I said that I will buy it when it comes out on video (even if it as
woeful as highlander II).
What I'm cynical about is the time when it is to be released. To me
octover/december 2000 is still a long time away.

p.s While some sections of the book will not be shown (the nude screen of
the hobbits were bound to upset some people) , I think it will be a great
movie.
This christmas ? I gave up waiting when it was October 2000.
I will be
seeing it at the movies, and then buying the video even if
its as bad as
highlander 2, but i'm not counting down the days. And Part
1? When is
part 2 due then ? I expected both parts to be released as once.
I hope it won't be like the animated LoTR which only have part 1.Given the budget and cast (Cate Blanchett, Ian McKellen, Liv Tyler,
Christopher Lee etc) it's almost certainly going to be better than
Highlander 2!
Anything is better than highlander II. I once read with great interest a
book on Sean Connery's life. It was funny how difficult to find anything
about his role in that movie. All I found was the movie title in his list of
movies he has been in. I think he was embarrased to be in such a shocker. I
mentioned highlander II since if I'm willing to buy a movie as bad as that,
I must really be dedicated.
The film is being made in three parts along the
same lines
as the book. Obviously the whole thing would be an enormous film if
released all at once, so this seems a good idea to me.When filming has been going for several months already, the cast is
largely known (with some pretty big names), I'm curious as to why you
are so cynical?
Playing Middle Earth and talking to neutrals can even make the pope give up
on the natural goodness of the human person.
