Noe we have around 1/4 play by credit card I think.
The account sheet was created (b4 our time) to have a list of
contacts, Gm
messages and an up to date account system. i think it works
very well. It
also gives you a total of the amount of funds needed for your
next set of
turns.
I'm not knocking the account sheet. In Oz several of us appear to have
suffered severe brain damage from constantly hitting our head against a
brick wall in a attempt to get such a mailing list out. I'm very glad you
have one.
Its just that I keep a permanent record of my turnsheet, while I don't keep
a copy of the account sheet. So when I do my normal delete of my emails, I
end up losing my account balance. I think i've about 10 pounds left.
I was doing some wishful thinking if you could put a message on my turnsheet
when my account balance is looking a bit sick.
After all, its easier for me to tell you to do some more extra work, than it
is for me to do it
thanks

p.s only 1/4 on credit cards ? I would have expected more. When I was a
young lad I paid everything with cheques (I felt it was safer), but these
days its the credit card. I think it still safer with a cheque, but cheques
seem so 'old'.

Not sure if we can do that. Basically we can't modify the GSI program and
this would mean doing that.

Hi,

young lad I paid everything with cheques (I felt it was safer), but these

I know what you mean, but I think what happens is PBM players often have
a certain amount of money they can spend each month, and that tends to
come from a bank account rather than credit card. I know of two veteran
players who always pay for games by cheque because their wives keep
careful tab on the credit card bills and they dont want it to be known
how much they actually spend on PBM!
From my own GM-ing experience I'd say that about 25% of my players pay
by CC as well, so I imagine such a figure is pretty widely spread.
Colin.

Maybe Harlequin should institute a system to encourage players to sign
up for the less popular positions! Choose the Rhun Easterlings, get
"special pictures" of characters of your choice.... ;-))

Yeh we tried putting in some pictures ourselves for some of the positions
but it did not work.....
Something to look into if ever we get a PC
version of the program. If anyone out there can do Mac versions of pictures

Interesting info, Harlequin's ME program being Mac version.
Btw, graphics files saved in jpeg format are compatible / usable.
Also, there's a bigger library of graphic files on Mac than on PC
(or used 2b).
b.e.
Clint,
What file format does the program use for the character pictures? We've
got both PC and Macs here so it may be possible to sort something out,
but I need to know the file format required by your software.
Tom (using Colins computer)
Will check into it all again and get back to you on this.

Best game, best platform. 'nuff said.
I found this out a few years ago, but had assumed it would be Mac based on
the graphics and layout. It was nice to have it confirmed.

RD: Incredible! At 4 per game per fortnight PBM represents the best value
for money entertainment there is. If you play five games that's still only
a tenner a week. If you go out for a meal it's gonna cost you a tenner a
head at least, if you go down the pub it'll only buy you five or six pints
(maybe a bit more up norf), if you go to the cinema you'll be lucky if it
gets you two cheap seats, and as for going to a football match, forget it.
These poor henpecked wimps should stand up for themselves and point out to
their wives that not only is PBM BRILLIANT value for money, it's also
intellectually stimulating, AND she knows where you are!
The only problem my missus has with PBM is the amount of TIME I spend on it.
'If you spent a fraction of that time making love to me, I'd be a happy
woman.' Always leave 'em wanting more, that's what I say!
