Loyalty Drop

Anyone ever seen loyalty reduced significantly without any obvious reason?

No tax issue (increase/decrease).
No pop losses.
No NPC’s identified.
No Nation Messages.

Thanks,

Brad Brunet

Player,

Emissaries of other nations can influence your pop centers without you getting any message about the loyalty being influenced/reduced. Also, due to the low challenge rank of emissaries in general, they are far less likely to show up in your pop center reports.

Hope that helps,

FT

I’ve never seen it before though. There has ALWAYS in my experience been a Nation Message. I check my loyalty for every pop in every game for every turn, putting little +'s or -'s by them as I figure one day I’ll compile the info to try and determine if 58% is any better than 60%, etc. I have NEVER seen this before…?

And, it’s happend more than once for significant loyalty - so it’s either a 90 emissary or more than 1…yet STILL no messages?

I’ll never “know” for certain, I suppose, because I’m not a convert to the “bad dice” argument for this event…

It is emissaries. After a very recent grudge game, we exchanged pdf’s, and one of the things we looked for is if every time a pop center loyalty got hit, did it show in the rumors. In the past it seemed to, but that is not the case any more. Emissary hits do not necessarily show in the rumors.

Yup, I agree: I’ve had some indications that you are less likely to get a nation message about successful emmie action if the emissary involved has stealth, but they do not have to have stealth to have their actions go unreported. The suggestion that their low challenge rank is connected to them being less likely to show up on a pop center report is interesting: never thought of that one…
Just my two cents…

I normally do not check my loy each and every turn. But once I noticed that the loy in a village of mine had dropped to 3(!). No nation message though.
The turn after, the village was no longer under my control. Looks like Emmie action because villages do not disappear within 2 turns.

Thanks for the input all. I’ve had enough others also advise that it’s “always” been that way. Odd, this is my 16th game over 5ish years and this is the first time I’ve seen such a loss without the message. I guess then I should be thankful for my years of “good” dice and let it drop…

Brad

Not only does an emissary with stealth often not generate a nation message, but an ‘ally’ working your pop center will often not generate a nation message. In these more honest (and pdf exchanging) times the latter is probably rare. But in the gudoledaze, when it was every man for himself, this happened a lot.

Brad, Is there an ally who has not given you his pdf? If so, he is probably the culprit.

No. Although the last time I could substantiate This type of behavior, I got the message…and lost the village.
