Greetings!
I'm a MEPBM (1650) player here in Brazil since August 2000, and there
is one player here who is developping a program using Java which can
import most of the information from the PDF turn file. This program
is called MEPPA (Middle Earth PBM Player Assistant) and it's in its
1.1.11 beta version.
It has tons of resources, like:
- A manually editable map (but it is updated automatically when you
import a turn)
- It indicates on the map where are the characters (including
dragons, I don't know about NPCs)
- It also indicates where are the PCs, their sizes, forticifations
and goods production (all these are updated everytime you import a
new turn)
- You can do your orders in MEPPA, too. It checks the orders for
errors and movement distances
There are a lot more that MEPPA can do. There is only one problem (at
least, up to now): MEPPA is 100% in Portuguese.
If you want to take a look at it, you can download it at my PBM site
(about 1.42MB):
http://www.livrovermelho.kit.net/MEPPA-v1_1_11.zip
It requires JRE - Java Runtime Enviroment 1.4.1.

Marcelo Cutin

Lots of bits and pieces using the XML file. Character information
etc. We'll see how we can develop it when we have got it to work
correctly.
