Hello,
well, that was an inspiring hour. I just watched the SciFi channel
"Passages of Middle Earth" the making of the LOTR movie. I must say I
was worried about this movie, but I feel much better after seeing this
preview. The attention to detail is as good as I would want it to be,
even though some things look different than I would have imagined them.
Before this the only thing I really knew about the movie was who was in
it and that they re-wrote Arwen's role.
anyway..... very cool.
on another topic..... I need help with something.
are any of you guys lawyers that deal with American* copyright stuff?
I am finally making myself a little web-site. It's not a commercial web
site, I just wanted to post some of the MEPBM drawings I did, so you
guys could see them as they were meant to be seen. Also, then maybe Sam
and Clint can download images directly from there.... We talked about
re-scanning the drawings some time ago, and lately you guys have been
talking about re-doing the art. (and it's more fun than what I'm
supposed to be doing....)
the reason I need the help of a lawyer is that I own the drawings
but am not allowed to use any of the Tolkien (and I think any of the
I.C.E. names) in reference to them. (according to Pete Stassun and my
contract with G.S.I.) Rather I can't make any money by using their
names, which is fine with me. But I would like to be able to refer to
them as "previously commissioned by G.S.I. to represent… etc." Can I
just put a TM sign next to the name, if I am not selling anything?
Also, each of the drawings has a number on the back that GSI used to
reference them. Would it be possible for me to refer to them by that
number and if Harlequin decides to update their drawings and use some
of mine the numbers could correlate to their list of names…???
anyway, I need help with this. I would be willing to trade
services... say, I could draw a character for someone... perhaps using
their photograph, so it looked like them...... just a thought.
way down the road, if I do sell prints of some of the MEPBM
characters, I will name them something else. Right now I would just
like the MEPBM players to know which picture was drawn for which
character.
any advice and/or help would be much appreciated. I'm still trying
to figure out the thumbnail thang..... Go-Live was made for people like
me.
later, Amelia - very much a MAC person : )

of the United States.... so don't think of starting any of your
nationalist tom-foolery !!! : )
