making of the LOTR and help?

Hello,

well, that was an inspiring hour. I just watched the SciFi channel
"Passages of Middle Earth" the making of the LOTR movie. I must say I
was worried about this movie, but I feel much better after seeing this
preview. The attention to detail is as good as I would want it to be,
even though some things look different than I would have imagined them.
Before this the only thing I really knew about the movie was who was in
it and that they re-wrote Arwen's role.
  anyway..... very cool.

on another topic..... I need help with something.

are any of you guys lawyers that deal with American* copyright stuff?

I am finally making myself a little web-site. It's not a commercial web
site, I just wanted to post some of the MEPBM drawings I did, so you
guys could see them as they were meant to be seen. Also, then maybe Sam
and Clint can download images directly from there.... We talked about
re-scanning the drawings some time ago, and lately you guys have been
talking about re-doing the art. (and it's more fun than what I'm
supposed to be doing....)

the reason I need the help of a lawyer is that I own the drawings
but am not allowed to use any of the Tolkien (and I think any of the
I.C.E. names) in reference to them. (according to Pete Stassun and my
contract with G.S.I.) Rather I can't make any money by using their
names, which is fine with me. But I would like to be able to refer to
them as "previously commissioned by G.S.I. to represent… etc." Can I
just put a TM sign next to the name, if I am not selling anything?
Also, each of the drawings has a number on the back that GSI used to
reference them. Would it be possible for me to refer to them by that
number and if Harlequin decides to update their drawings and use some
of mine the numbers could correlate to their list of names…???

anyway, I need help with this. I would be willing to trade
services... say, I could draw a character for someone... perhaps using
their photograph, so it looked like them...... just a thought.

way down the road, if I do sell prints of some of the MEPBM
characters, I will name them something else. Right now I would just
like the MEPBM players to know which picture was drawn for which
character.

any advice and/or help would be much appreciated. I'm still trying
to figure out the thumbnail thang..... Go-Live was made for people like
me.

later, Amelia - very much a MAC person : )

* please don't let this lead to anything! When I say American, I mean
of the United States.... so don't think of starting any of your
nationalist tom-foolery !!! : )

This is an idea I like....!! You want to go into business doing this?
If I could send in my orders to name an agent after my wife AND
include a "character" drawing of her for my pdf....she just might
let me play more games...???...!!!

Clint? this a possibility?
Amelia? what credit cards do you accept?

Regards,

Brad Brunet

Congrats to the guys in Black once again!

The FP came out of the box right from the start. White Wizard made
serious advances on the Dunlendings forcing him into the mountains. The
FP flipped the LR capital with the usual big name brands.

Hats off to them. Initially we were scrambling in the face a highly
organised FP team. Hats go to the Cloud Lord who always seemed to be in
the right place at the right time. He really hated pointed ears and he
has a collection of them. FP lost big Silvan and Noldo guys and Sinda had
some hurts.

DS made a serious push into the markets and ran them the whole time. Lost
Dunlendings somewhere along the road but he was a new guy in one of the
toughest positions to be in. DS ended up swimming in gold (outside the
usual Witch King) including the Dragon Lord to everyone's surprise.

And here's all my memories (and of myself, the DL, how probably others
will remember me!):

WK stuck it out though he had a -20K deficit for most of the game though
running amok with a goodly amount of troops. To him goes the "Gimme gold
please!" award.

DL always seemed to have bad luck when it came to hiring an army and was
the butt of the team jokes for having too many do-nothing mages. To him
goes the "Damn... forgot to hire another army!" award.

DO will be remembered for the names of his camps! Lots of troops all
bogged on the road to Orthanc. To him goes the "Love those camp names!" award.

CL always was in the correct place. I bet the FP had a real hate to see
their turns and who died on the knife. To him goes the "DK, Celedbring
has ears so I'm tempted!" award.

BS will be known as the Blind Babe. She withstood all our adolescent
comments (esp. Mine!) with ladylike charm. To her goes the "boys will be
boys!" award.

IK will be known for rounding up all the orcs in Mordor and sending them
to Osgiliath time and time again. To him goes the "We"ll get it this
turn!" award.

FK will be known for his Ozzie leanings. Feel like I've been there with
all the Ozzie Innuendo. To him goes the "Fire is cool, Oz is coolest!" award.

QA will be known for the only guy to have his Naz captured and freed. He
wanted to help the Duns but to him goes the "Wow... those mountains are
tall!" award.

LR will be known for actually having less troops than the CL at one
point. He lost his capital REAL early and we never bothered to get it
back for him for some time. To him goes the "Rebuilding, name of the
game!" award.

CO will be known as the happiest guy on the team... right after he
spotted SG had belly-upped. To him goes the "How's this SG!!" award.

DU will be known as having the most unenviable position. We tried to keep
him on but sadly lost his last MT without a backup in range. To him goes
the "Trial by fire is fun!" and BEST SPORT award.

I do have to say we are looking for a new grudge game. We are a tough team...

DL #26 signing off... and one last heckle to the WW and KE...for letting
Khamul challenge him in DG... and win with hardly any wounds and KE for
suppling many emisses to challenge though I did lose some guys in DG when
you all came a-callin.

Oh... forgot one... and he'll kill me for it.

DK... to the guy who had to put up with the wanderlusted DL commanders.
And his real pet peeve for hex numbers on turn orders! To him goes the
"Umm... your army's presence would be nice!" award.

Ah... I just knew I'd miss one.
