What mapper are you using?
I run Archon on my Mac using software called Parallels that allows me to run a virtual instance of Windows on my Mac. I would prefer to use JOverseer (not publicly available yet) but although it is a Java application, it currently does not work on my Mac.
I use JOverseer, works great.
No choice in the poll for both Palantir and Archon, both of which I run.
I use JOverseer
Note, I didn’t include JOverseer and MEAssist as they haven’t been released yet. I use JOverseer exclusively for ALL these polls myself…
am to stupid to get any of these things to run
What?
Palantir is really easy to use!
Get in touch if you need some help!
Have Fun!

Personally I’m using Palantir to get a first view on the scene.
To get more details I’m using JOverseer.
Have Fun!

Ok, so an unreleased program called “JOverseer” is what many of the frequent fliers are using. If it is unreleased … then how are you using it? 8) Sounds like it must be a superb program.
edit Google is good thing. From the cursory images, it looks to be a nice program! It sure would be nice to not have to use three different programs to run turns efficiently.

JOverseer is creeping every closer to public release. Those of us who use it responded to a request by Clint to test and comment on a new user application, sometime last spring, I believe. We replied saying we’d do it and were added to the yahoogroup to share email comments/requests, etc and access the updated versions of the software.
The app is now quite advanced from the original product we looked at along with fixing many of the bugs. It’s now getting polished up in a number of ways. We’re on version 0.9.11 and expect to release Version 1.0 when complete. Keep your eyes out for it!
I’m the author of MEAssist, which I have been using for the games I have been playing in for the past few years. I’m planning on a public release of this tool when MEGames converts to using the new .xml file for all of their games. ( Parsing the text in the .pdf files is much more of an art than an exact science. ) Most of the newer map programs (JOverseer, MEAssist, and to a limited extend Archon) all really have the same goal, provide the map, and then a lot more information collated so that it is easier to see “the big picture” in a team game.
<sigh> The number of requests I get for making all the colors on the map the same as Palantir still amaze me :p… Change is good… Remember that
Robert
change is not only good robert, but in the case of moving away from Palantir, well, a desperate need, frankly…
Robert’s ME Assist is pure class and the guys is a programming genius and the reason why I never bothered signing up for the JOverseer… Why when ME Assist has everything you could want in a ME program besides popping down the shop to get da beer!
Kudos Robert!!
Until Clint asked for help in evaluating JOverseer, I primarily used Archon. Since being involved w/JO, I can’t imagine a need for another program. This is not to say that MEAssist is bad. I cannot comment on it, because I have not used it.
But, judging from the similarly defensive reviews of both programs, I would say that using either would be of a great benefit to individual and team players.
Kudos to Robert and Marios especially, but also to all of the people that have been helping to move these two programs forward.
Wade
not used MeAssist, but have used Palantir which i still like.
However, I am now testing JOverseer, both on Windows and on Linux (OpenSuse 10.3)
JO is looking very good… and for me, runs quicker on Linux than on Windows.
Everything runs quicker “than on Windows”, no?
yes on Linux Jo runs quicker than the version I have on Windows.
some things may only be half a second faster, but in general everythingis faster under linux
So when is JOverseer going to be ready for general release?
