Clint,
I hope, (the 22 or so interested thus far) includes the Brits willing to pay
the ''necessary'' , (this does NOT include the ''sleep'' option) to take
part. I can think of 3-5 certains & a Dane who will be up for it. AKA 'The FtF
Select.
We don't care where we play, just sort it out! & soon please.

In support of New Orleans, its much cheaper than New England cities locations. Prices are
in general lower. As long as you avoid going during a handful of festivals, its easy to get
hotels at about 60 bucks. I haven't been keeping close tabs on who will go where, but its
certainly easier on the price conscious than other places. However, its not really driveable
from the East Coast obviously...
Right. If the FTF is New Orleans we can tour the battlefield.

Q2: What is your maximum budget (all in) for such an event?

Vegas is doable. New Orleans if I can get a really cheap flight.
Anywhere east of the Mississippi is probably too far/expensive.
Q2: What is your maximum budget (all in) for such an event?
Probably about $300, certainly not more.

I think he means more people expressing interest. Could be mistaken
though.

No I'd just like more numbers of people... That will pretty much tell me which region. Also the ability to support any particular location with an organiser in that area is essential. So far I've got 2; Jeff in Minneapolis and David in Chicago. To cut down costs free accomodation and location to run the event is pretty important as wlel.

Sorry, but ... I couldn't resist (In case you were wondering, yes, I
miss you, Tony Z. ... you tried to show me my mistakes in, like, my
second game ever - I didnt' listen, of course ... and I probably still
make many of the same mistakes ... )
Technically, New Orleans _is_ East of the Mississippi (unless you want
to get to the West Bank ... then you have to go EAST! No kidding!!
Check out a map sometime ...)

Sorry, I wasn't suggesting answering here... I was
trying to suggest a way
to reduce the massive amount of traffic and
cross-purpose posting! Ooops.
Gavin
I think what CLint is hoping for is 30-40 names of
people "interested" in a US FTF... Plus he wants
people to come forward offering facilities (places the
game could be held and people could sleep for free).
Then, once a place is selected, the hope is that the
whole thing will not fall apart because there are no
more than 5-10 people willing to travel to any one
city to do this. Get some momentum BEFORE the
location is selected so that once 80% of the people
find out it is going to cost them $500+ for the
weekend....
