ME One nation choices

Whatever ny differences with Harley may be, I want the company to prosper. Since Harley is so variant crazy, let me propose this:

For the pickup games the Noldo and Cloud Lord are put out for bid. They go to the highest bidder within a certain date. That is an "English" bid, or a "sealed" bid, not a "Dutch" bid.

In 12 years of play I never got to play either position. Just recently, I picked up a dropped Noldo position but the CL still eludes me. Since I have more money than good sense, I can finally play the Cloud Lord.

Yes but each player turn takes us time to run. So less money coming in more
turns to run is a bad thing for us. Hence a bad thing for you the players.

Since Harley is so variant crazy, let me propose this:

At player request! If we're variant crazy then it's only because that's what the players want. Aren't you a player of Grudge, Wotr variant, 6v6 Grudge game, alternate 12v12 game with special rules and other such? I don't see that as a bad thing though. Glad we can offer such games.

For the pickup games the Noldo and Cloud Lord are put out for bid. They go
to the highest bidder within a certain date. That is an "English" bid, or a
"sealed" bid, not a "Dutch" bid.

Um not a fan of this. It would be interesting to see if players who complain that we're too expensive starting coughing up the cash though... In all seriousness I don't want it to be a "who pays the most gets the most" - I prefer a fair system where we treat everyone equally fairly. That needs reciprical treatment by players though.

RD: Well if there are any more like-minded people to Ed out there, Harle
could make a fortune (and help fund the rest of us poor b***ers who still
have to work for a living). Why stop at Noldo and Cloud Lord? Why not
auction EVERY position to the highest bidder? Even if Rhudaur or Rhun
Easterlings went for just 1 (reserve price!) Harle would make money and
wouldn't the little guys love it if they whupped the big spenders?

Oh good grief. The amount of whingeing going on whenever you propose a
change or whenever someone doesn't like a decision plus the threats to drop
if they don't get their way... It's becoming more than a little annoying.

Clint's selling a product. If the product is changed so that some of the
consumers stop buying, he loses. That's what people are saying
here. Saying "I wouldn't like that, so I would not play" is no less
reasonable or threatening that saying to a market researcher "No, if you
put purple food colouring in my baked beans, I'd be less, rather than more
inclined to buy."

Nor should it be annoying. Clint isn't asfaik formally proposing a change,
he's discussing an idea, and anyone who tells him "yes, that's great I'd go
for that" or "no, I wouldn't want that, it would make me not want to play"
is doing him a service. (Assuming reasons are given and thinking explained.)
