Congratulations to the DS team for a fine victory, in particular the Easterlings, Dunlendings and Cloud Lord for exellent plays in the latter stages
of the game,
After the Arth/Card player dropped we had no choice but to bring this game to
an end… Good luck guys and happy killing
Thanks for plug, I appreciate it. We’d heard rumors you guys were throwing in the towel, is this official then? Do you speak for the team?
BTW, I think the EO player did a marvelous job as well, especially with the beating he took early on when we wiped out the NM.
Who’d you play, and can you list your team?

I took over the Eoth on turn 9 or 10, I can’t remember so thankyou in return. The very turn when your forces had slipped into the Eoplex to destroy the capitol. No one else in their right mind wanted to take over the position
Ended up me-Noldo/Eoth, Steve Marlow Wood/Rhud, Ernie NG (did a fantastic job), Neil Blair-Dwarves, Graham-Sinda, Paul Moreno-SG and Trav Smith had a nightmare Arth/Card.
Btw, I’m setting up a team for another 1650 game and we’ll love it if you joined Chris.

ps. Yep, I speak for the team…
I played Dunland in this game, originally went DS just to try and keep a DS presence in the NW, surprised the position held up as well as it did and survived relatively intact until game end. Big thanks to the DS team for all the support in dosh, resources, agents and cursers. Certainly needed them when Arth/Card/Eo were massing huge forces at Tharbad, glad the bridge never got rebuilt!!
Matt
Dunland
Well done Matt I shouted/screamed and cajoled the rest of the NW Freeps to hit you
with troops and characters 4 turns before any FP forces were sent against you. The Cardolan made a huge mistake in taking the bridge down and sending a huge army NE to
the WK when it was’nt needed. If he had sent the army SE instead of NE combined with Noldo/NG/SG forces your posiition would have been untenable. But your play with the DS
support was exellent. Kudos…
Guy
ps. I’m 2-3 players short in a new team, would you like to join Matt?
We tried sabbing the bridge shortly after I declared, only to find it had already been removed!! So my biggest concern of being hit directly by Card was negated and he may not have been able to move forces se anyway if we would have got the sab in soon enough? I’d agree though that early aggressive action against Dunland would have probably ousted me fairly quickly, I had retired a lot of troops so was pretty vulnerable early doors. Think it was only SG that managed to take a pop from me militarily, pesky emmy action did cause me some problems early on surprised none of my larger pops were infed too though. Why didn’t the Noldo characters try any kidnap/assass attempts when they were crawling all over my pops? Were they not good enough to achieve it at the time?
Anyway I really enjoyed the game, with two of my games just finishing I would be interested in joining another game, what’s your e-mail address so I can contact you direct?
cheers
Matt
Guy,
I may be interested as well in a new team game, please contact me direct with specifics if you don’t mind. My e-mail is leonidas@fastmail.fm

I lost 3 of my best agents to dragons in the hills of Dunland and missed a
couple of kidnaps and with the worsening Gondor situation I decided to concentrate there. Minas Arnor would have fallen this turn and Peligir was
saved so I was about to send all capable agents into SG…

No wonder I only managed to recruit the one Dragon, the Noldo were keeping them well fed to stop me from recruiting them :-).
Good luck to the FP’s in their next games. Thank you for stepping down when a DS victory is without question. A noteworthy effort by the Noldor, who seemed to hold the FP team together, past the breaking point and who could make me laugh so easily on the forums.
I want give praise to my DS team here; great group of players, great teamwork; Mordor never got touched! I had to chuckle when I disbanded a 70% intact Cloud Lord starting army on turn 14 because they pushed through the gap and down to South Haradwaith, nothing left to do. I want to say that this DS team I was apart of was the most enjoyable I’ve played with, out of my pick up games; the Ice King-(Ludvig), Dark Lts (Jeff), Dun (Matt), and Easterlings (Chris) in particular made this round of M-E for me. Thanks.
Good luck to all,
John-Cloud Lord 69
This has been a very enjoyable game for me, for the reasons others have stated before. Excellent team play and players on the DS (all those mentioned before- cheers guys), and some very good play from the FP when the situation looked hopeless.
Good luck to all in future games, and to you Guy. I hope you get your FP team together and get some revenge
Jeff. DkLts and for the last few turns FK.
Well the Cloud Lord had 27 Kills with 15 hostages on turn 18 victory. 42 downed FP’s by one nation. Ouch…
Since the 1st Harad, it was more like we Hari Karied ourselves, LOL
PM the SG of 69
As its praise time let me do say my 2 cents… Ermie NG for fighting brilliantly with only support from SG, Neil Dwarves for saving my skinny arse in the Eoplex where the Eoth were about to be overun by relentless DS pressure, Paul SG for always being a help and keeping his sense of humour through everything when lesser men including me lost theirs. Steve Rhud-Wood for the faith he showed in us in joining the weaker team and Graham Sinda for doing his best when so inexperienced.
Thanks Jeff, Matt, Chris and John for reminding me why I love this game even when we lose… Your teamwork was explempary and showed throughtout the game and I hope we meet again in the realm of ME. Sod this, you total ba%$&rds, It just was’mt
fair, we kept searching for artifacts and found dragons instead! Eeek, that was me…

Don’t forget the Corsair, what was his name again??? LOL
Was there a Corsiar player? Boohoo. Sooo, who got the most VP’s on the DS? Please, don’t say it was the ‘player we don’t mention’?
