Meow / 29th APril/ New charges

New charging structure applies from 29th April...
Will MeoW be available before then? (everything I have seen to date says
'MeoW available in the near future)

As per earlier email, I dont have a particularly recent version of Excel, so
I cant use Automagic. Clint: do I recall you saying that the new charges
wont apply b4 MeoW is available?

Cheers
Mike

Hi,
I've spent a frustrating afternoon trying to use Automagic. It works
fine in terms of inputting, but I can't actually save the file - when I
try to do so Excel stops responding and falls over. Any ideas?

By the way, I think charging people extra because they have a
non-Microsoft operating system (eg Linux) is extremely unfair.

Colin.

I agree wholeheartedly. I'm not currently playing in a game but was
about to send of a cheque to clear my account and start-up in a new
game. Unfortunately I run a Linux OS and with the price increase the
game is now out of reach of my pocket.

Not that I'd play with as company that charges me extra for running
Linux anyway.

Patrick.

What may be kind of handy is listing the name of the current update
verion on the website with the download link. This way, we can check
in from time to time and see if a new version is available, rather
than read through all these posts and figure out if we have the most
current one or not!<S>

More two cents worth:

rest of

players (off the list as well) seem to be in favour of it (at least

30

people have expressed very positive opinions so far).

We value feedback - it's been very useful and you have our thanks,

we plan

to continue with the pricing structures we first outlined:

April 29th is the first date of the new charging system.

Turn costs then will be:
Automagic or MEOW turns: 3.90/US$5.80/AU$9.90
Non-automagic/MEOW turns: 4.50/$6.90/AU$12.50

(we'll charge Automagic turns at the rate above regardless if there

are

problems from the incorrect formatting by players for a short

period until

we feel that enough time has elapsed - not sure how long that is

yet).

Updates should reduce in quantity - thanks for sticking with it.

We are using our automated MAIN program on certain games for which

we get

enough Automagic turns per game to make it worth using it. At

present we are

inputting by hand many of the automagic orders - around 15% of

players are

using Automagic now. We expect that when we release MEOW, it will

also be

quite popular and eventually we should be able to use MAIN on most

to all

games.

Thanks

Clint

Hi,
One result of using Automagic will surely be that it won't be possible

Actually, I think it will be easier. AM generates a very elaborate
human-readable order form that can be pasted into an email, as well as
the computer-generated one. This way, orders need be entered once for
human and computer consumption.
