I think GSI should just change the name of the game, change the map a bit, change
the scenarios slightly and call it a new game, charge us less because they don't pay
royalties anymore and everyone be happy should the Tolkien estates revoke ICE's
licenseship.

On rec.games.pbm there is a (short) discussion about the future of middle
earth PBM. It's been mentioned that once the LOTR film is released then it
would be surprising if the game survived."... I'd be really surprised if the PBM Middle Earth game survived the
advent of the films intact. I expect this is one of those 'licensing
conflicts' which remains open until the big parent spots it and closes the
