1 - if the Deft boards shut down without adequate
replacement, and a large number of Deft players sign
up for this mail group, it will get absolutely crazy.

It wouldn't explode around me.. I am used to having around 200 or more
e-mails a day coming through my system and I read and answer most of them.
All of them are game related and I even remember going away for a week and
coming back to nearly 4000 messages (In one folder. I have 23 on the e-mail
to help sort things <grin>).
This is not in any way a busy site and if it does get busy you can
easily adjust to recieve one message a day.
I find this a perfectly acceptable way of communicating between players.
I even moderate a host of lists and they are easy to manage and maintain.
