Hi,
I have taken a look at the message boards and would now
agree that they are easier to use - the threading is better
and it's much simpler to ignore stuff which doesn't interest
you.
BUT ...
I still think it's unreasonable for people to have to pay
for an online service! I'm lucky in that I don't pay for net
access, but most people in the UK do. In addition I've
noticed a couple of US players saying they won't subscribe
to this mailing list. I understand why - but bear in mind
that Harlequin use this for general announcements. Why
should people have to pay to view such annoucnements?
I question whether this mailing list will continue to be so
active. Given there are about the same number of players in
the US and UK / Europe, it seems likely that the general
trend will be towards double the volume we had before, which
is quite manageable.
Unless of course US players post more messages since they
have free net access?
This list would become totally unmanageable if the games were active
rather then on hold and if there were no message boards. The # of
folk signed up for this has only jumped by 20 members. Potentially
there may be 100's of players yet to sign up. To keep this list
viable the messages that really don't need any GM interaction
eventually need to be placed on a message board rather then here.
MB Tip of the day
If you are low bandwith or low time user click 'Subscribe Click to
receive email notification of replies' for the topics you wish to
follow. That way you will get emails letting you know when there's
something that may be of interest to you in your watched topics. (You
will need to register a user name and provide your email address for
this to work of course)
