Hello,
I read Kim Anderson's article in Bree today about Game Data. While I
disagree with the usefulness of league tables, Kim (and no doubt others)
will find the tables interesting. If people are going to participate with
this then I think there should be a few changes.
Winning Positions - No problem with Kim's idea.
Winning Players...
I suggest,
1) Harlequin run it (or at least send the info they have to Kim) rather
than Kim asking for input from players. The statistics in Kim's table are
from his own experience, and are as he said, pretty biased towards him.
Harlequin have all the info on hand already don't they?
2) The scoring system for PLAYERS should change. If you win, double the
points below. If you place you just get the points...
I would suggest....
Cloud Lord, Noldo, Corsairs.... 1 point.
Long Rider, South Gondor, Harad..... 2 points.
Dark Lts, Sinda, North Gondor .... 3 points
Arthedain, Dog Lord, Easterlings .... 4 Points
Ice King, Eothraim, Dunlendings .... 5 points
Dwarves, Fire King, Blind Sorceror, Cardolan .... 6 points
Witch King, Northmen, Quiet Avenger .... 8 points
Dragon Lord, Rhudaur, Woodmen .... 10 points
3) Record how many positions a player has played.
4) If a player places from a standby position, add an extra 5 points.
Doing this, Harlequin might get some people taking the harder positions
rather than
the mad dash for the 'glory' positions that takes place at the moment?
They might also fill standby positions more easily?
And as a prize? Well they could start by buying the odd drink at the
pubmeets!
Disagree???
