What's the chippy? I was in England for a year, but I don't remember a chippy.

Depending on the context - a chippy is either a carpenter (little chips of
wood y'see) or an establishment one where can purchase fish & chips ... an
ancient Greek delicacy that has found its second home on these shores.
I'd imagine Clint had the latter in mind...
My all time favourite has to be roe & chips - anyone go one better on that?

I'm afraid, it has to be Chicken and Chips, with a side order of curry sauce
or, if I can get to my local chippy before 6.30, plain old cod & chips with
plenty of salt and vineger (that's when they put the last batch in so they
come out frshly fried).
Hmmm, just started drooling over my keyboard......
Cheers
Simon

No Stu has the Chicken burger and I droooooooollllllllll.
Clint
PS Mushy peas are spawn - and yes it was a chip shop. Topic of conversation
was
"If you had ONE time [for a couple of days] that you could go back for, and
affect history when would it be and what would you do- you're allowed to
speak the language, and not immediately be stoned to death."
followed by that old favourite
"Okay so you're back in time/alternate dimension - what can you make that
would revoluationise society at that time."
···
What?! No mushy peas?!
I like the topic of conversation! Of course time travel is moot but nice
idea
How about going to back 29 May 1453 with some serious armament and see if
Constantinople could be held against the Turks ... could one man make that
much difference?

Time travel forward is possible and relatively easy (pun intended).
