Middle Earth

Wondering about the level of Service that you all get. We get such massive
swings of praise and virtually hate mail that it's hard to give a good
judgement call sometimes.

So would you say?
1) WOW - outstanding - want to have our children
2) Excellent
3) Very Good
4) Good enough could do better but happy with the level as they are
5) Could do better
6) Not happy, wish x,y,z could change
7) Unhappy - will play this game to finale and then stop
8) Very unhappy - we NEED to change r,s,t
9) Incredibly annoyed you'll be hearing from our lawyes
10) Bomb in the post?

Not looking for either end of the praise/hate mail response here rather more
interested in getting a feel for how we are doing so that I can make some
changes if they are necessary.

Not sure if you wanted us to reply here to the list,
but I have no problem with it.

I think the service has been outstanding, and while I
have no desire to have your children I hope you keep
it up. Having played PBM, then PBEM games for 10+
years now, I've seen it all and feel that you guys do
a great job. Response to emails is prompt, and
forward thinking and consideration levels are high.

For example, if I send a turn in and a character's
orders are missing, I get an email telling me I forgot
it. If I make a change at a late time, it always
seems to make it in. Many, if not all other
companies, are too lazy or just don't care enough to
make the extra effort.

Oh, and you make it easy to pay you too.

I have a quick question which I think I already know the answer to, but
thought I had better make sure.

If I have two armies in the same hex, 1 has 100 HI + plenty of food, the
other has 10,000 HI + no food. If I transfer command of the second army
(unfed) to the first army, will the resulting army be considered in supply
for the upcoming movement phase? (ie suffer no movement penalties)?

Thank
Jeremy

#1, but not the children part. Absolutely no complaints.

Jeremy, your assessment is correct! The group I work with refers to
this processing as "passing (or waving) the sandwich".

I would answer #2. I am very happy with the service & response that
Harlequin supplies me for my turns, but I am not willing to have
their children (I don't even want to have my own). This is
especially true since I am the type that doesn't get me turn orders
submitted until the due date. Great job!

I have to say I am very happy, someplace between 2-3 on the scale,
with the service both from ME-Games and Harlequin in general.

Cheers,
Øystein

Service on ME very good, helpful, prompt and intelligent interpretations of
cocked up orders. What more can one ask for?

Am enjoying the game, but not sure I want your children! (Unless of course
they come complete with a dragon or 2!)

Cheers

Dave

Have to say good to very good, and in one specific area, much improved
recently. That is, errors, and spotting of player errors - I asserted
some time ago, last time you were sticking your head up for criticism,
that you were not quite as good as Allsorts had been when it came to
spotting an alerting players to their errors. (All the toadies leapt
out of the cupboard and came to your defence IIRC). But of late I seem
to have made loads of utterly stupid errors in my orders, and you've
caught 'em all. So many thanks, keep moving in the same direction.

Still don't like "grudge" games or the credit card surcharge though :frowning:

I have had nothing but excellent service since the switch from DGE. I have
caught one mistake and ya'll have caught two. (Thanks for the latter). Both
were immediately fixed.

I could not ask for better service.

RD: I'll give you a 3 for very good. I WOULD like to change some things but
these are in GSI's hands, rather than yours.

Keep up the good work,

Richard.

I have seen you guys so 1 is out of the question

I'm siding with John Prescott. If someone threw an egg
at my from short-range, I would like to punch them
back.

My main regret - they protester wasn't knocked to the
ground.

I also think its 'funny' the protesters wife isn't
happy with the Precott's reaction - maybe she expected
him to turn the other cheek ?

HAR !!! Maybe if the pope got hit by an egg (and not
just a bullet), they might not get upset. But it
wasn't the pope.

And to make it middle earth related.

"Flash from 1650 G63"

A late breaking story is coming out from tharbad in
1650 g63. The neutral army of Enion and Daonghlas were
on the way north to check out first hand the rumours
of the completely destruction of the WK.

When asked why they were moving up, Enion was quoted
as saying 'Its only turn 5, the WK can't be that
killed so quickly. Since I'm a neutral, I feel its my
duty to the rest of the nations to provide a unbaised
view of the situation'.

We keep hearing unconfirmed rumours of men will wooden
weapons being slaughtered by huge armies of well
trained/well equipped free armies. Any reports of
human (or orc) right violations will be looked into
and investigated.

And while we did have a small bodyguard, it wasn't
that large (the cardy main army was said to exceed
7500 soldiers (with several thousand troops continuing
to pour into the war zone). So our 5000 odd army
wasn't excessive.

However several protesters in tharbad took offense as
our refusal to pay a toll (we felt that since we
acknowledged the free as current game winners, we
shouldn't pay).

When Enion was hit by a egg, the army took offense. In
our effort to bring the criminal to justice we might
have overreacted, as the capital of cardy is now a
ruin. If I say 'sorry', I assume all will be forgiven,
and life will be perfect from now on ?

We notice that the new capital is now hidden (GREAT
MOVE BTW), and in an effort to find the egg-throwing
criminal, we will attempt to reveal hidden and bring
the criminal to trial.

Oh yeah, we just went Dark in protest.

So stop throwing eggs. You might not like the
reaction.
