Eh, here's that "violent bemoaning" eh? hehehe
While I essentially agree with the Art vs Science (Art wins...)
arguments, I must take exception to this blind sided attack on that
poorest and most humble of ME PBM tools.....the Combat Calculator.
While the actual combat formula is quite simple, really, as the rule
book takes us through it rreeaallllyy slowly, the information that
is NOT accurately represented in the calculator is what Clint is
referring to, and is what, in my experience, made the combat
calculator actually quite useless.....
So instead of lambasting the poor defenseless bit of code, actually
you should be cheering it's existence as Art's triumph over meagre
science! I haven't had the CC accurately predict a combat in over
a year..... all the loyalty/command rank/moral spreads I could
imagine don't come close to the odd and bizzare results I have seen.
I've had many combat results that I was unable to reproduce on the
combat calculator AFTERwards... I think the creator invented his
own "mystery" modifiers in there somewhere.....
