Mike bites back

An account history is *fundamental*. Your approach is
like my bank saying "We cant send you statements
anymore, but we will send you all the receipts and you
can work it out for yourself". I wouldnt continue
using such a bank

actually I don't need an account history. Every time I get the turnsheet I
get another sheet with a initial account balance, turn fee charged, and
ending balance. Seeing lots of -3.90 and the odd +39.00 isn't that useful.
I'm siding with laurence that an email from Clint about input error would be
more useful for a person like me. But having said that, I agree that Clint
needs a way to PROVE the account balance is correct, I just don't need him
to prove it to me every turn.

All the valid changes you have made to protect
yourself against dirty rotten players who waltz off
into the twilight owing you cash are fine - but you
have made in a way that penalise me - loyal for 8
years and literally £000s spent.

this was another thing that I seem to remember talking about a while ago, ie
the difference between newbies who could drop a position (since its not
their cup of tea), and the hard-core players like Mike who would stick to a
position until the game is won or lost. I forget the result, I think we
can't tell the difference between them, or else we shouldn't treat them any
differently.

Similarly I am
uninterested in you waving SS turn fees,

I've haven't been SSed for a long time (guess who is a silly old git who
spends far too much time on Middle Earth). But I was one of those who agreed
that not paying when you are SSed was a good move. When Clint then said that
this meant that the SSed message wasn't accurate anymore, I wrote back that
I didn't want the changes reversed. The advantages of other people not being
charged when they get SSed is IMO more important than me knowing if my
allies were SSed or not (since I can always ask them directly).

or international player fees.

It I had to pay a credit card fee I would still play M/E, but i'm glad that
Clint doesn't put it in. Methinks since credit cards are the only real way
of international player to pay, he didn't charge it. It could also be a law
thing that overseas people don't get charged. Sort of like Oz where overseas
sales don't get hit with the new 10% goods and services tax, but all local
sales are.

thanks
