Mom, Mom, I got me 4 Game Winners Certificates!

Thank you Laurence. You are obviously a gentleman also!

I never meant to insult or badger Laurence or anyone. If it came across as
such I apologize! I admire Marc and felt he didn't deserve the little
swipes.

Truly the rest of Laurence's comments were fine.

Well thank you. And thanks to all for their amusing comments in this
thread.

I have to say that you had me chortling. But to clarify, since you were
initially unsettled: I wasn't flaming Marc, or taking these sinister,
subtle swipes, which are apparently worse that flames.

But I was certainly poking fun at him. I found his dilemma rather
amusing - it hinges on the affront that someone feels when their special
privilege has suddenly become available to all - ironic for a Colonial
coming to Old England, to find that _it_ is now the Land of the Free.

I thought his final threat was a little petty, and that he was on his
soapbox and deserved some good humoured heckling from the back of the
crowd. I really wasn't suggesting that he wasn't suggesting that he was
not a gentleman! Good Lord, are you looking for Pistols at Dawn?

My comments against the GWCs in general were serious, as discouraging
team play, and I'm pleased to see that Mark uphold them in his
"defence". Several others chimed in against the VCs and VPs -
refreshing. And finally, I wasn't seriously suggesting that he didn't
have any friends - you know, just because someone does not rely on
simileys, you should not assume that they are evil b*st*rds out to get
you (or your friends). If you have a tendency to do that then you
should seek some Professional Therapy. (Now have a cup of tea while you
ponder the spirit in which that is meant!)
