is, where in
the book did the first greek say 'immortal fame' before being
killed (and he

antics in the
saga?
not as far as i'm aware. The first time I read the book I rememenber that
the entire trojan army wandered up and down the beach saying 'death to the
foremost' when the greeks were about to land.
Since no one wanted to die, the greeks delayed landing. Thus resulted in
chaos as the ships started crashing into each other.
Eventually one greek realised that something had to be done, and he walked
onto the beach with the words 'immortal fame'. The trojans army kept their
promise, and this greek died, but because he was the first to die in combat
he achieved his fame.
While I've been able to find the greek's name, and that he was the first to
die, i'm not been able to find where he said those lines.
But I figured anyone who calls their cat by the general's name might
rememeber a little bit more of the book than I. FOI, my cat was called
'cat', and a middle earth friend's cat was called 'morgoth'
I've used the line in my games when the first DS armies cross the river.
