i dunno if this has done the rounds before, but i was looking at a few
Final Standings/Status files and wondered...
What`s the most kills by a nation in one game that anyone has seen?
From the files i was looking at the Cloud Lord in that game got 84
[after the game finished on t47]...
84 in 47 turns doesn't sound like all that hot of a kill-ratio to me, less than two per turn -- hopefully that guy held a lot of hostages. I don't recall the highest I've seen in a completed game, but I have a better ratio than that in a currently ongoing game (there's yet another G118 reference <g>).

Here is a personal experience: Akhorahil once killed SIX characters in ONE turn.
I was the BS while a prisoner was the Easterling. Having some experience with life behind bars I sent him a 3 x 5 card that contained an innocent message to the average citixen but which was a deadly insult to a convict. The purpose of the ruse was to provoke him into aggressive action (my team mates wanted the usual diplomatic dance). The ruse worked beyond my wildest expectations. He sent six characters with agent skill to the BS capital. All were between 10 and 40 skill ranks. As it happened Akhorahil was an army commander. All six Easterling agents tried to assassinate and were killed by the Nazgul.
Now you would think a convict would intuitively realize that you don't send recent graduates out of the Police Academy after Carlos the Jackel. But when your feelings are hurt, most people don't think. Oh yes, the BS conquered Eastland South.

But you've strayed far off topic Ed. There's no telling how many more "kills" my G118 CL would have, if you counted the executed hostages, the agents I've killed while blowing through their guards, the curse kills, and the enemy agents suiciding against my characters (as you described) -- none of those last categories count in the kill-stat counter.
