Naval Combat Issue - is there one?

I’ve never felt the need to actually calculate Naval combat like Army combat. Have to check Army vs Pop especially to ascertain whether 250 or 255 is most appropriate. But regarding Naval combat, as previous messages, playing it based on the assumptions the 5/3 relationship enforces, it’s always a mix of pretty simple circumstances:

  1. Mutual Glug
  2. Smaller Suicide blockers
  3. Overwhelming 100%ish all-troops survive Victorys
  4. Oh crap, they got me

#4 occurs most often when reading turn results where I assumed #3 and it turns out they had significantly more than expected. Be that 2 navies instead of 1 (still showing as “Navy” and not “Large Navy”…), the 20/10 instead of the 10/5, or they ended having 2 artifacts and 3 spells (not often you see that risked on the water…). Not sure if calculating X based on Y is worth 15 decimal points of accuracy if the result is really based on Z anyway in these circumstances…besides, I personally prefer nagging my allies for not using artifacts correctly and let my boats sink or swim without too much attention on their own…

Hey Tim. Actually, its mis information. Or this post is. Who knows?
