Hi all,
I am wondering how the navy size reported on my turn sheet is determined. I know that people think it is a based on raltive navy size … largest is huge next three are large, etc. …
But how is size determined for a navy? Does is depend on warships and transports? If so do they get weighted by strength or constitution or number? Does it count troops?
Thanks,
John
It is clear that navy size is relative (the largest fleet in the game will be “huge” even if it is, say, 6W/6T). The relative navy size does not appear to include the number of troops on-board; a navy of 32W/16T with 100 archers will be considered bigger than a navy of 12W/12T with 3000HI. I’ve always assumed it’s simply the total ship count of both types, but now that you mention it, I suppose it’s possible there is a weighting of some sort including strength – that’s a harder thing to notice since the number of ships would be far more important to determining the size than whether the WS strength is 5 or 4 for example.
