Well, NKA #2 is underway, which can only
mean...it is now your opportunity to sign
up for NKA #3!!
Since I'm posting this to the Harlequin board,
where the readers haven't already been pelted
with my recruiting messages, I'll state again
what NKA is
NKA stands for "No Kidnapping or Assassinations".
It is a variant of the 4th-age scenario, where
the Kidnap and Assassination orders (615 and 620)
are not allowed.
These are 2-week games of small teams, what DGE/GSI
has always called "team" games where team sizes are
from 1-4 players, except for Kingdom teams which
are limited to 2 player maximum.
I have already filled and launched three games of an
earlier variant scenario and two games of NKA -- though
the two NKA games are still in their early stages, too
early to draw conclusions about the scenario. But
personally I'm enjoying not having to worry about losing
4 characters at my capital, nor about ever having an
army go away from an agent strike.
Because of the way I advertise, many of the players,
or at least the captain of each team, are on email.
And for any US-ers out there that don't already know
this, note that with Harlequin, you can send Harlequin
a message for other players and Harlequin will get it
to them, either via email or snail mail. Also, their
"team listings" show all the player names that are
of your allegiance. Making diplomatic contact has
never been easier!
If you'd like to sign up, just email me at
JeremyRichman@compuserve.com
and tell me the number of players on your team and
which allegiance you prefer. Please specify an
alternate allegiance if there is a secondary one you
would play. (Or you can tell me you don't care which
allegiance you play.) So far, in the five games I've
put together, at least 90% of all players have gotten
their first choice of allegiance.
Don't send me a setup, just the signup email. Once
the game is filled, I will send out an announcement
to all team captains and at that time everyone can
send their setups into Harlequin (not to me).
So come and try this variation of 4th age!
