Game 318.
Free People get hammered early in Eoplex and Ithil. DS
clearly in ascension throughout the world. Rhu/Dun trade off, East
actively/secretly DS from Early on, Corsairs and Harad are about to
blast South Gondor together. DS team attacks Harad in order to
prolong the game. Good job of it too, the castrated him with agents,
and then poured thousands of troops at him. Corsairs busy fighting
off their expected QA allies, game went at least an extra 10 turns
of some form of competition.
Game 66
Free People clearly superior team. The are together, communicating,
and coordinating early advances against the DS that are impossible
to mistake for anything but what they were. Neutrals all report a
very poor DS diplomatic effort. Rhudaur DS out of pity and distaste
for company giving Arthedain and Cardolan to the same player in this
Two Nation Game (that really shouldn't happen, eh?), but Duns leaning
Free from the early diplo's, and then All Three Southern Neutrals
declaring that they will go Free together because, in their words,
"the DS deserved it". 10 turn game.
Game 318 - were the neutrals "bad" for deciding to jump onto the
clearly more superior ship? Were the DS "good" for jumping the
neutrals to prolong the game?
Game 66 - were the neutrals "bad" for deciding to jump onto the
clearly more superior ship? Were the FP "bad" for NOT jumping the
neutrals? (and then begging the DS to learn their lesson and drop)
Personally, I have neither stict Morality nor Ideal's in this regard.
There is no honour in war....and personality, pride, etc, has too
often swayed the fate of millions in this world, what's a few
medievil peasants in the face of vanity and/or glory?
Either our differences are good (hair colour, taste in movies,
play style...) or we would prefer everyone to feel the same way, and
do the same things.
Of course, an effective an public rating system that would be simple
to devise and painlessly simple to maintain, would help.....no? At
least players who care would know what they're getting into at the
start...
