The Easterlings will be playing a very strange game!
The future of Middle Earth will be determined through lore. We hold ourselves aloof to your petty squabbles. We will not declare for any side until our sages are satisfied, or someone violates our homeland.
One of our goals will be to research every artefact in the game. We will also be experimenting with the rules.
Our homeland is holy
We hold our homeland to be any hex within 2 hexes of any starting pop centre, unless it is nearer to someone else’s pop centre. So we hold 3814 and 3537 to be homeland, but 3436 and 3913 are not.
Any armies may pass through our homeland - but only if they have informed me first. Otherwise any attack, or placing a camp, means war!
Outside my homeland you can attack my armies and characters without consequence.
We are mercenaries
We will work for any side on contract. You could ask me for gold, or to challenge some character, or capture some pop centre. Our main ‘currency’ is casts of Research Artefact. For example, if you want a camp in my homeland, I’d probably ask you to research one artefact.
Contracts involving an attack will be published in advance to give the victim a chance to defend.
We will play to our victory conditions
This is the only unannounced attack we will ever do.
The One Ring
We may simply try for a One Ring victory when our sages are happy - our declaration would be merely for form’s sake!
