I've closed the polls on an off-topic list. 7 liable to join
is clearly
not enough to make it worth doing. Sincere thanks to the 12
who voted. A
sympathetic pat on the top of the head for the additional 5 who
also voted,
but didn't work out that you needed to vote in both polls for it
to make
much sense (Gunboat Players? And a huge wet raspberry to
the other
359 of you.
From what I've seen in the past, 12 votes in a poll is actually
a reasonable result. And you got a few more in the other
poll actually wanting the new list.
I wonder how many people don't vote (like me) because of
Yahoo's sign-in and registration procedures? I get enough spam as
it is... some of it in Spanish! (I suspect I get the Spanish
garbage because I played with some spanish-speaking players
who somehow got added to a mailing list, probably through Yahoo
or Hotmail. Through them, the list got my email address.)
If Clint and co were to set up a secure "polling booth" at
their end, nothing to do with Yahoo therefore, then I would vote
and I suspect so would many others. Clint has our email
addresses, so validation would be really easy. Voting would be
done by email with a suitable topic title to allow for
automatic processing. (Piece of cake on a Mac...)
