New LotR teaser trailer online :)

The new teaser trailer for the upcoming Lord of the Rings movies is
online now. Only available as RealVideo sofar, but still worth a look
at the official pages for the movies

http://www.lordoftherings.net

and in the top right corner it should be.

Whee!

I want it to be Xmas 2001 already!

Wait! There is a QUICKTIME version at http://geocities.com/fatman23us

To whom it may concern

the duns would like to open communications with the
other players in 1650 game 63. Hopefully before I get
attacked.

I plan to read up on how to play the duns before I
jump into bed with anyone, so don't expect a very
early declaration ( I wasn't expecting this game to
start so quick).

But I am wondering what i'm going to do with my
armies, it seems a waste to disband the cav. Ideas ?

thanks

You need them for deffense, If Rhudaur comes down early you will need them;

but thats only really a problem if he plans on staying neutral for a while and

needs a target for the armies he cannot afford. Also, if the FP do well, Rhudaur

goes good and they take the Witch King out early, Its advisable to have a big

army on your capital as you’re the only unknown on that side of the mountains.

I normally retire everything but the cav, but if you trust your
neighbours, retire them too and you'll have more gold than you could
ever dream of. It's a great risk though, if your neighbours are known
neutral killers.

Hello!
I am the Cloud Lord in 63. Our group will be holding a strategy
session tonight. We also were amazed at the startup speed. I suggest
you use up the armies--your borders will be assailed by Dwarves,
Arthedain, Cardolan and sometimes the Noldo. (Sinda not usually) You
may need the Dun and Rhudaur to assist! I suggest you contact the
Dun and make an agreement. Jim, cloud lord 63

You are you talking to ? Pontus gave me (the duns)
some good ideas on my initial troops (cav plus crap).
But pontus isn't playing the game.

You
may need the Dun and Rhudaur to assist!

Thats makes the person the WK (getting attacking by so
many nations also helped me work it out).

The duns are not going dark on T1. But i'm not going
free on T1 either.

Yes evil Witch King - listen to that skulker Ji Indur. Soon horders of
bloodthirsty Noldo Elves will be pouring over your walls, puting your
servants to the sword, etc. etc. etc. Surrender now.

Good or a bad thing? (Or just a thing). Curious for future reference. As
a player I like my start-up back ASAP and I would guess that it is like that
for most players as well.

Well, I never said I don't play the game... But I do promise this
advice is what I think is best, and not some sort of trick. Now
everybody knows you found the advice a good idea, and therefore the
FP may try to invade you. The DS won't. I've never attacked an early
neutral and I doubt I ever will.

If you need hints on how to play the Duns, contact me and I may be
able to help you. Dun is the nation I've played the most, though only
once in 1650.

> You

Thats makes the person the WK (getting attacking by so

Yes, but there's a nation that is attacked by far more nations than
the WK, to you may need to think again!

The duns are not going dark on T1. But i'm not going
free on T1 either.

I've never chosen a side before turn 10, and I won't encourage you to
join us right away. The might of your nation means you can surprise
attack one of the FP nations surrounding you, and throw him out of
the game before he knew what hit him. That is worth more to me than
getting an early ally. If you need info on what is happening, get in
touch and I'll keep you updated. Rhudaur, you are the exception. We
need you from the start, and you can't afford to stay neutral in this
hot area. Your armies are among the most powerful in the game, and
you can improve the chances for your nation by attacking early. I
hope you'll join our side. We're all experienced players and the
early communication has been great. All neutrals, please get in
contact ASAP so we can discuss the future of Middle-Earth.

/Pontus the Nazgûl

I reckon you should use them to attack the Witch King. Then again, I’m biased as I’m playing Northern Gondor. Contact me on richard@rfarrer.freeserve.co.uk
if you want to discuss things. Always happy to help neighbours throw off the propaganda of the enemy.
