Welcome aboard Dean! It's good to have a fresh approach to things, especially at a more strategic level for updates and promotions.

Thanks Matt,

Getting up to speed with day to day things at the moment but I will
slowly then move over to the strategic level.

Welcome aboard Dean. Hope ya can figure a way out not to feel like its the same old same old game. Basically feel like grudge games and regular games the same or near same thing is done for each side at beginning of game, and feel like most games are decided in first 10 to 15 turns. Reason why I like gunboat games the best now. Feel gunboat game are different each game even if playing same set of nations a second time.

Hi There Mike,

Interesting to hear your views on the Gunboat games feeling different. I guess that with no diplomacy you don't co-ordinate your allies into the normal optimal first turn moves and so the game develops in different ways!

I will be making sure Kin-strife gets up to full speed and then thinking of new variants for the game long term!

Mike, have you played Kin-strife? I am currently reading through the module book in preparation to set up in, and play a game of it. Already it feels as if every game of it will be different due to the variation of all the possible Nation set-up choices! Looks to be providing that NEWNESS you are seeking?

Once KS gets its bugs sorted out, a gunboat version of it would be cool.

I agree!
I suggest one nation per player.

Well, I hope that the play testing experience did not put you off this
new module as there seems to inherently be lots of variation built into
this.

I can see that Clint and the rest of the design team via the setup
options have applied years of Game play experience to create a product
that keeps you guessing as to what the best openning moves are, and
opens out the way the game may develop.

Thanks Matt, I will be looking to get into the higher level activities increasingly over time. It has been great to rediscover the pleasure that this game is!

Yes, new players is a real target for me.

I intend to take a stall to Conventions etc...

If any of you attend gaming conventions that exhibit a range of products, board games, card games, role playing, which would be a good event to exhibit at, please throw details of the event at me.

I assume you mean conventions in the UK -- or do you have plans for the US as well? If you are going to have any representation at any US convention then Gen Con should be top of your list, IMHO.

If nothing else you can usually send pamphlets to be placed on the "pamphlet table(s)" every convention has.

Hi Alan,

Yes, we are talking UK Conventions to start with. A US trip has to be
combined with other purposes to be worthwhile but 'may' be a distant
future thing.

The Phamphlet table idea is good, we are going to design one, for BOFFA,
which is basically The Hobbit films!
